ADDISON POST Saturday, APRIL 13, 2013 Page 3 Dr. James Meinsen, D.C. Chiropractor, Exercise Physiologist Phone: 607-359-BACK (2225) #1. MEDICARE AND CHIROPRACTIC BY: DR. MEINSEN, M.S., D.C. Stay flexible my friend. Why, because medical scientists define the onset of “AGING” as being reduced joint flexibility. Understand, your chronological age is not the determinant factor in this regard. Reduced joint flexibility is. It can happen when you are young, in “middle age” or not until you become very old, depending on your level and type of physical activities. Gardening, in particular, is noted to off-set aging; as a person can live to be 80 or older and technically not become part of this aging statistical category if they have NOT lost joint flexibility. This biological fact is very significant; because people in the “aging” category are more likely to have health problems and illnesses when compared to other human statistical categories. Why should one unnecessarily become a member of this “aged” group if it can be avoided or if this inevitability can be prolonged several decades? Unlike Medicaid, Medicare insurance will pay for chiropractic and this can be a blessing. I’m not suggesting the “activator” tool, or “blocking” as chiropractic methods to achieve this; although Medicare will pay for both! I recommend light force, chiropractic, range-of-motion, “manipulative” methods be done to the full-spine and shoulders, “by-the-hand” along with a home plan of stretching exercises. You cannot sit in a chair or lie in bed all day and remain flexible. If you don’t use it you loose it. It requires physical activity and it takes a little effort. This, along with chiropractic can help you remain active in your old age. Corning Senior Center Event Join us for “A tour of picturesque Holland’s tulips, canals and windmills.” This free travelogue will be presented at the Corning Senior Center on Wednesday, April 17th at 1:00 p.m. by Ian Mackenzie. Jesus explained that the wine was His blood and the bread was His body. We won’t grade ourselves on how righteous we are; we all come up short. We’re all on equal footing. You may think that what you have done isn’t worth God’s forgiveness. That’s not true. Jesus died because He chose to, to save us all from our sins. In Romans we read that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. That is why we come to communion. After Jesus rose on the 3rd day, He walked on earth for 40 days to convince people that He was alive. He wanted them to share and become witnesses to the world. He wants us to be witness as well. We are to be witnesses to our Jerusalem, Woodhull; our Judea, neighboring towns; and Samaria, the people we dislike. He told the disciples to become witnesses to all the earth. We need to be His witnesses right where we are. When was the last time you were His witness, telling someone what Christ has done for you and what He means to you? Jesus wants all to be fed. Our services are at 9:30 in the Baptist Church and we welcome you to worship with us Sunday morning. Addison Post Email: addisonpost@gmail.com Addison Community Center Events The Leland D.
