1939<br />
Doris Bourgeois DeAngelis is 86<br />
years old and resides in an assisted<br />
living residence in Atco, NJ. Her<br />
daughter, Harriet, writes that Doris<br />
has dementia/Alzheimer’s and is<br />
able to sit and read “<strong>Wings</strong>”.<br />
Harriet said, “Doris appears to be<br />
brightened up by doing so.”<br />
1961<br />
Sister Benita Peters is currently a<br />
health services assistant for the<br />
Benedictine Sisters at the Sacred<br />
Heart Monastery in Cullman,<br />
Alabama. Sr. Benita said that she had<br />
a reunion during Easter 2007 with<br />
Ann Griffin Boland in Cullman, AL.<br />
Ann is a 1961 classmate and a<br />
former member of the Benedictine<br />
Sisters. They had not seen each<br />
other in 30 years.<br />
1963<br />
Maria Flores Munguia, originally<br />
from Nicaragua, moved to Florida in<br />
1979 with two daughters and one<br />
son. She has a six year old<br />
grandchild. She writes, “I will always<br />
remember all my good days I had at<br />
SSA.”<br />
1964<br />
Kathryn Bordelon Jones retired<br />
after 30 years of teaching in the<br />
Georgia Cobb County School<br />
System. Prior to Hurricane Katrina,<br />
Kathryn and husband John moved<br />
to Diamondhead, Mississippi to be<br />
closer to their family.<br />
Linda Hanemann McPherson<br />
recently retired from the Georgia<br />
Cobb County School System after<br />
40 years as a teacher and counselor.<br />
She is the only staff member at her<br />
school, who has been there since it<br />
opened. The school theater was<br />
named after her in honor of her<br />
service. She returned to the same<br />
school as a part-time counselor in<br />
the fall. She has two children and<br />
two grandchildren.<br />
1975<br />
Debbie Dugan Bowie with<br />
daughters Elizabeth ’02 and Laura<br />
’05 joined husband Earl and sons<br />
for the Saints game in London.<br />
Elizabeth studied at Oxford.<br />
Kerry Sweeney Graham is living in<br />
Charlotte, NC where she is office<br />
manager for a local physician. She<br />
has two daughters, <strong>St</strong>ephanie (23)<br />
and Camille (21).<br />
1976<br />
Alice “Allie” Sewell is living in Baton<br />
Rouge where she is the Clinical<br />
Quality Coding Coordinator and<br />
Auditor for Our Lady of the Lake<br />
Regional Medical Center. She also<br />
teaches PSR at <strong>St</strong>. Aloysius Church.<br />
Desiree Taylor Billeaud has made<br />
time from her busy work schedule<br />
to coach Our Lady of the Lake<br />
Sparklettes dance team.<br />
1978<br />
Liz Mentel Ballas is happily married<br />
to Richard. They have two sons<br />
Jeffrey and Matthew Montalbano<br />
and stepson Cole Ballas. She is<br />
Nana to three grandchildren – twin<br />
boys and a granddaughter. Liz says<br />
she is enjoying all that God has<br />
blessed her with and loving it.<br />
1979<br />
Benita Galatas Santini traveled to<br />
London for the Saints game. Benita<br />
and Elaine Simmons toured and<br />
attended a service at Westminister<br />
Abbey.<br />
1981<br />
Laura Brandt Alberts, husband<br />
Lloyd and son Joseph (4) moved to<br />
Covington. She is VP, Lending at<br />
Citizens Bank and Trust and is a<br />
member of the Board of Directors.<br />
1982<br />
<strong>St</strong>ephanie Jacob Triplett is starting a<br />
new venture in addition to her<br />
Merle Norman Cosmetic <strong>St</strong>udio.<br />
She is now the Mandeville<br />
consultant for the Carlisle<br />
Collection.<br />
Elizabeth Timothy is living in<br />
Pensacola, Florida. In 2004 she was<br />
appointed magistrate judge for the<br />
Northern District of Florida.<br />
Elizabeth was the 20<strong>09</strong> Career Day<br />
keynote speaker.<br />
1985<br />
Tina Brandt Brantley, husband Mark<br />
(SPS ’84) and daughter Caroline<br />
(10) returned to Covington. Tina<br />
teaches fifth grade at Our Lady of<br />
the Lake School.<br />
Melissa Wilson Taylor recently got<br />
married, bought a home and<br />
published a children’s storybook<br />
called “I Love Dirt.” Available at<br />
amazon.com<br />
1986<br />
Elizabeth Joanen <strong>St</strong>okes has<br />
partnered with the publisher of<br />
Louisiana Homes & Garden<br />
Magazine to create a new website,<br />
ourhouse.biz, which focuses on<br />
keeping commerce in our own<br />
community by offering an online<br />
resource for living locally.<br />
1990<br />
Nicole Delauzain Dezendorf,<br />
husband Chris and children Edward<br />
(4) and Maggie (1) reside in El Paso,<br />
Texas.<br />
Shelly Derbes Lynch, husband Jody<br />
(SPS ’90), daughters Maren (3) and<br />
baby Claire are living in North<br />
Carolina.<br />
Tara LaRocca White and husband<br />
Bryan live in Covington with their<br />
daughter, Mary Ella, 6 and son, Jack,<br />
4. She is the Membership Director<br />
for Northshore Community<br />
Foundation. Tara recently<br />
volunteered for a medical mission<br />
trip in April, 2008 to Guatemala. The<br />
trip was sponsored by Helping<br />
Hands Medical Missions, an<br />
apostolate of the Regnum Christi<br />
movement.<br />
Melissa Smith Ellis, husband Patrick<br />
and son James (5) returned to New<br />
Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.<br />
She published a book, “Historic<br />
Photos of New Orleans.” Melissa<br />
gave a presentation at the <strong>St</strong>.<br />
Tammany Library, where she<br />
discussed New Orleans during the<br />
early 19th century.<br />
1993<br />
Kim Colle Reagan and husband<br />
Joseph with daughter Kaitlyn (3)<br />
moved back to Covington. Kim and<br />
Joseph opened Reagan & Reagan,<br />
CPA, LLC in Covington.<br />
