Our Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel
This statue was destined to be part of SSA. Our religion teachers
attending the Hofinger Conference in January 2004 discovered the
statue at the exposition. They knew her home should be on the SSA
campus. We are proud to make Our Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel
her permanent home.
Stained Glass
Finally, mention must be made of the four antique stained glass
windows that hang above the courtyard entrance to the chapel. These
windows are from the original St. Scholastica Convent Chapel that
stood on the site of the present day Academy. By having this remnant
from the venerable sisters who prayed in their presence, proud honor
is given to their memory and gratefulness for the path they set out for
the generations of students to follow. It is the work of their arms, like
those of the Blessed Mother, that helps to propel all who study, pray,
work and commune in this place, to enter the fullness of Trinitarian life.
Our Dream Come True . . .
The new chapel provides a true spiritual center of the campus. As a
Catholic high school, we are centered in Christ. We see our students
frequently stopping by the chapel to connect with God even if it is just
for a few brief moments before they head to their next class.
Our mission to teach as Christ taught is the reason for this school, the
teacher in the classes, the model of its faculty, the inspiration of its
students. May our school community be strengthened with a true
chapel on our campus and renewed in hope.
Celestin thanked the SSA community and many others who made the
chapel possible and brought it to life. She acknowledged special thanks
