Letter From the
School Board

In August 2007 St. Scholastica Academy unveiled its 2007-
2012 strategic plan, Innovation, Purpose and Promise, with
strategies to advance quality in all areas. The plan is an
important milestone in the future of the school. It is a
living document which defines our school’s goals and
objectives and provides the basis for continuous
improvement.
The Academy is committed to meeting the measurable
objectives of the plan. Realizing each of these goals
depends upon effective strategy execution. The SSA
community is making good progress in each of the areas
and continues to move forward with implementation of the
plan. I commend the administration, faculty, staff, alumnae,
students, parents and friends of SSA for their thorough and
collaborative efforts to the future that we have planned for
ourselves.
All of us have a vested interest in SSA and in its future.
With the creation of the strategies and determination to
accomplish the goals over the plan’s five year timeline,
funding is essential to advance the ambitious plan to make
SSA the best school in the Gulf South. To turn the vision
into action, the Annual Giving Fund, Keep the Promise, was
reinstituted in 2007-08. It will continue each year to benefit
our young women of today and tomorrow. I would like to
thank you for your generosity and support of the 2007-08
Annual Giving campaign and your continual support in the
years to come.
An enormous thank you to our many volunteers. I have
been able to witness firsthand the hard work, energy and
dedication of our volunteers. We appreciate your time and
talent. Your commitment to the Academy will help us
continue to succeed. I invite all of you to become involved
in the life of SSA and in its many activities.
Lastly, I would like to thank the administration, faculty and
staff for their dedication. Their commitment to be part of
our daughters’ lives is a gift that will last a lifetime
.
This has been a good year for SSA and our students. Thank
you for your support. Let’s continue to work together to
preserve SSA’s legacy and to enhance its future.
