Rainbow colours <strong>of</strong> innovation<br />

IBM-SPJIMR SSME Centre conducts Advanced Certificate Programme in Services<br />

IBM-SPJIMR SSME Centre successfully organised the<br />

third edition <strong>of</strong> the Advanced Certificate Programme in<br />

Services which ended in November 2012.<br />

The programme adopted a three track approach <strong>and</strong><br />

consisted <strong>of</strong> six modules over four months.<br />

Each module had one or two specific themes focusing<br />

on particular dimensions <strong>of</strong> services.<br />

Senior managers from companies like IBM, Hindustan<br />

Unilever, HDFC Bank, Atos India, TCS, Unfors Raysafe<br />

(India) Pvt Ltd <strong>and</strong> the Department <strong>of</strong> Posts participated<br />

in the programme.<br />

The total number <strong>of</strong> people indirectly influenced by the<br />

programme in this cycle alone st<strong>and</strong>s at over 3,600.<br />

The faculty included pr<strong>of</strong>essionals from IBM Senior<br />

<strong>Research</strong>er- Haifa <strong>Research</strong> Lab- Israel, TCS,<br />

Marketing head <strong>of</strong> Centaur Pharma, Ex VP <strong>of</strong><br />

Mahindra Satyam, Operations head - HDFC Bank,<br />

<strong>and</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essors from SPJIMR.<br />

The programme architecture has been adopted by<br />

organisations in other countries as well.<br />

The Centre is a unique establishment <strong>of</strong> its kind in India<br />

meant to promote Service Science <strong>and</strong> <strong>Management</strong> in<br />

various industries.<br />

Participation in this course provides me with fresh<br />

inputs on implementation & delivery <strong>of</strong> service<br />

systems…strongly recommended for pr<strong>of</strong>essionals<br />

who aspire to be future leaders in service <strong>and</strong> servicerelated<br />

The SSME programme at SPJIMR is the first <strong>of</strong> its kind.<br />

The programme brought together the world <strong>of</strong><br />

services. What I appreciated most was that the<br />

programme combined theory <strong>and</strong> past research<br />

along with insights <strong>and</strong> application from various<br />

industries <strong>and</strong> practitioners<br />

The Services Sciences, <strong>Management</strong> & Engineering<br />

Course has given me the new view to services <strong>and</strong> also<br />

how the services is important not only to person,<br />

management <strong>and</strong> specifically how ethics plays a<br />

crucial role in this industry<br />

enriched my domain expertise in service <strong>and</strong> the<br />

methodology that it teaches us to use in our practical<br />

work. Bringing in such amazing speakers from all<br />

kinds <strong>of</strong> industry <strong>and</strong> getting a chance to listen to them<br />

itself has been a blessing. I strongly recommend this<br />
