SPJIMR concludes the fifth edition of its annual management and cultural festival OJAS
SPJIMR concluded the fifth edition of its annual
management and cultural fest OJAS that spanned
three days and saw participation from more than 158
colleges including the top 20 B-schools in India. With
“Strength, Strategy, Survival” as its theme, OJAS 5.0
achieved major milestones not only in terms of student
and corporate involvement but also in terms of
leverage of social media and general online presence
to achieve increased permeability with all the
stakeholders.
Some of the major highlights of OJAS 5.0 were: Twenty
core team members managed functions like
marketing, events, sponsors, logistics etc. supported by
110 coordinators from the batch. A 250% increase in
Facebook fan following over the last year was
achieved. About 9,000 online registrations were
received for the events and 26 sponsors supported the
event. OJAS 5.0 held a total of 16 management events.
More than 8,100 participants came from outside
SPJIMR and the cultural footfall recorded 1,200
participants.

Friendly football match between ESCP-Paris
students and SPJIMR team
The Sports Committee at SPJIMR organised a friendly
football match between ESCP students visiting the
campus and the SPJIMR team.
ESCP Europe is a business school located in Paris,
London, Berlin, Madrid, and Turin. Established in
1819, it is the world's first business school. ESCP was
ranked 10th amongst European Business Schools in
2012 by Financial Times. In 2010, its Master in
Management programme was ranked 1st worldwide
by the Financial Times. ESCP-Paris students had arrived
at SPJIMR for international project management
seminar held in Nov-Dec 2012.
The SPJIMR team outperformed their opponents and
won the match by a score of 6-1.
The match served as a bonding exercise for
participating students, ensuring that it was the sporting
spirit that came out the winner in this friendly match.

Fun sports for PGDM students at Juhu
beach
Sports Committee at SPJIMR organised a fun session
for PGDM students at Juhu beach as part of the annual
initiative of SPRINT, the sports festival of SPJIMR.
The participants were asked to form their teams and
register for the event. The event saw a large number of
students turnout despite the event being scheduled on
a Sunday morning. The entire event was coordinated
by the Sports Committee.
Students also brought their own sporting equipments
and played volleyball, football, etc.
A friendly Frisbee match was played between the Sprint
core team and the rest of the participants. Sprint core
team won the competition but all the participating
members enjoyed the event thoroughly.
“The event was very interesting and stress relieving.
The Sports Committee should organise more such
events,” said Sumit Dhingra, PGDM 2012-14 student.
“Even a simple sport like Frisbee can be a great stress
reliever in the busy schedules. I thoroughly enjoyed
participating and coordinating the event along with
Sports Committee members,” said Praveen Kumar,
PGDM 2012-14 student.
