OPEN COMMUNICATIONS
At A-REIT, we recognize that a
transparent and effective corporate
governance culture is critical to the
performance of the Manager and
consequently, the success of A-REIT.
Since listing in November 2002,
A-REIT is committed to delivering
timely disclosure and transparent
communications to Unitholders and
the investing community. Regular
communications are conducted
through telephone, publications,
website, annual report, investor
meetings and briefings as well as
general meetings in a timely and
professional manner. All materials
used in roadshows and meetings
with investors are made available
on our website on the same day.
The Manager adopts a
comprehensive corporate
governance framework that
meets the prevailing best
practice principles. Our efforts
in maintaining an informative
and transparent channel of
communication have been
recognized in the market through
numerous awards.
In October 2009, A-REIT
was ranked first in the “Most
Transparent Company Award”
for the REIT category in the SIAS
investors’ choice awards for the
second consecutive year. The
criteria for this award were based
on the nominations received from
analysts, fund managers, financial
journalists and retail investors
represented by SIAS and endorsed
and supported by SGX, Standard &
Poor’s, PricewaterhouseCoopers,
SID, ICPAS, SSFA, the Business
Times & the Asian Corporate
Governance Association.
In February 2010, A-REIT was voted
1st in “Best for Responsibilities
of Management and the Board of
Directors in Singapore” and 3rd
in “Best Overall for Corporate
Governance in Singapore” in the
7th Annual Asiamoney Corporate
Governance Poll 2009. A total of
104 senior executives and research
analysts from 96 firms participated
in this year’s poll, citing more
than 250 companies across the
region. The results of this survey
are especially notable, given that
the polling period coincided with
some of the most pronounced
financial market volatility in history
and reaffirms the Manager’s
capability and commitment to
good corporate governance.
