PERRIER-JOUET Rose 'Belle Epoque' 2004 Bottle
£109.95
Cuvee Belle Eqoque Rosé is Perrier-Jouet's emblem which has become one of the most
esteemed prestige cuvees in the world. The transparency of the magnificent bottle, with its
Emile Galle floral decor, reveals its attractive pink tints. This is a delightful, gentle wine, with
all the qualities of a great pink champagne that offers both roundness and vinosity: elegance,
finesse, delicacy and subtle fruity aromas. An attractive, salmon-pink colour and fine,
persistent bubbles. Very elegant aromas of red fruits: wild strawberries and redcurrants,
with notes of honey and baked bread in the finish. On the palate it well-balanced and
sustained and its great complexity reveals excellent length and power, while retaining a
certain delicacy and freshness.
CHATEAU COUTET Barsac 2000 Bottle
£36.95
**** A superb working of the natural botrytis phenomenom. The balance between acidity
and alcohol is excellent. The wine is rich, fresh, complex, long, ample and fatty, marked by
aromas and falvours of passionfruit.
DECANTER (2001) **** 'Lovely lanolin fruitiness and citric freshness. On the palate it is very
fresh, with good rich concentrated fruit and a very long flavour. This is classic Barsac style.
CHATEAU COUTET Barsac 2005 Bottle
£34.95
THE WINE SPECTATOR (James Suckling) 92-94 points - 'Intense aromas of honey, spice and
candied lemons. Full-bodied, very sweet and dense, with a syrupy mouthfeel and a long finish.
This is very concentrated. Almost classic quality.'
JANCIS ROBINSON 19/20 - 'Hint of bronze, blossomy on the nose. Very full and intense and has
absolutely MASSES of weight. Unmissable. You could slice this in two. Most impressive. This
should live for almost ever. Very neat finish. Acidity well hidden. Drink 2018–35'
CHATEAU COUTET Barsac 2007 Bottle
£37.95
JANCIS ROBINSON 18.5 points 'Mid honeyed gold. Strong botrytis. Massive richness – real
tingle factor and excitement. Long and very thorough and intriguing. Lots of development
still to come. Still chewy. Energetic. Long. Drink 2018-35'
ROBERT PARKER 93-95 points 'A fresh, lively, zest nose with touches of honey, frangipane and
mango. The palate is very fresh and well-defined, viscous honeyed fruits, vibrant acidity and
so much freshness on the finish. Harmonious and sophisticated, this is a lovely Coutet with
long-term potential. Sublime. Drink 2010-2030. Tasted April 2008.'
CHATEAU D'YQUEM 1iere Grand Cru Classe Sauternes 1994 £179.95
Bottle
Everything thing comes to those who wait, and it was not until the beginning of October in a
race against time that the berries of Semillion and Sauvignon attacked by botrytis were
delicately harvested. In the hands of the cellar master these fruit globes were transformed
into a golden river. Waves of deliciously concentrated essences a fragrant voyage upon notes
of flowers, acacia and gingerbread. A tidal wave of powerful, fat candied fruit flavours,
flooding the palate.
WINEMAKER'S NOTES - 'Rich, opulent concentrated and full-bodied. Medium gold with a
honeyed, oaky, flowery, tropical fruit bouquet, magnificent and unique.'
CHATEAU D'YQUEM 1iere Grand Cru Classe Sauternes 1996 £184.00
Bottle
ROBERT PARKER 95 points 'Compared with the flamboyant aromatics of the 1997, Yquem's
1996 plays it closer to the vest, although there is a lot going on. Light gold with a tight but
promising nose of roasted hazelnuts intermixed with creme brulee, vanilla beans, honey,
orange marmalade, and peaches, this medium to full-bodied offering reveals loads of power
in its restrained, measured personality. There is admirable acidity, weight, texture, and purity
in this impeccably made Yquem. However, patience will be a virtue. Anticipated maturity:
2012-2060.'
CHATEAU D'YQUEM 1iere Grand Cru Classe Sauternes 2001
Bottle
£569.95
ROBERT PARKER 100 points 'There are 10,000 cases of this perfect sweet white Bordeaux. The
2001 Yquem reveals a hint of green in its light gold color. While somewhat reticent
aromatically, with airing, it offers up honeyed tropical fruit, orange marmalade, pineapple,
sweet creme brulee, and buttered nut-like scents. In the mouth, it is full-bodied with
gorgeously refreshing acidity as well as massive concentration and unctuosity. Everything is
uplifted and given laser-like focus by refreshing acidity. This large-scaled, youthful Yquem
appears set to take its place among the most legendary vintages of the past, and will age
effortlessly for 75+ years. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2100+.'
CHATEAU DE MALLE Sauternes 2001 Bottle (DIS)
£34.95
ROBERT PARKER 93 points
'A fabulous effort, the 2001 De Malle is closed aromatically, but it exhibits tremendous palate
penetration, deep, full-bodied flavors, great acidity for balance, and marvelous notes of
lavender, honey, pineapple, creme brulee, and spice. This is a sensationally textured, long,
medium gold-colored, moderately sweet 2001. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring, and drink it over
the following two decades.'
CHATEAU FILHOT Sauternes 2000 Bottle
£24.95
ROBERT PARKER 'This light green/gold-colored, medium-bodied, moderately sweet 2000
exhibits straightforward pear, pineapple, and peach flavors in its simple, one-dimensional
personality. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.'
CHATEAU GUIRAUD Sauternes 2005 Bottle
£39.95
DECANTER MAGAZINE **** - 'While we wait to hear who the new owner will be, Xavier Planty
has made another superb wine, very close to being five stars at this early stage. The wine is
very perfumed with lovely concentration and imposing length, fruit and elegance.' David
Peppercorn
THE WINE SPECTATOR 95-100 - 'Thick and spicy, with loads of dried pineapple, lemon and
honey character. Full-bodied, very sweet and long. This is layered and beautiful.' James
Suckling
CHATEAU LA TOUR BLANCHE Sauternes 2005 Bottle £34.95
ROBERT PARKER 93 points
92 points Wine Spectator: "Subtle aromas of honey, lemon peel, cream, vanilla and apple pie
follow through to a thick palate, with lots of sweetness. There's also loads of clove and other
spices. Not as exciting as from barrel, but still outstanding. Best after 2011."
