Congratulations to Emily Thomas(11W) on
passing her intermediate modern dance with
distinctions and her grade 6 violin exam with
merit. Well done to Robyn Keane (11A) on
achieving her bronze medallion Lifeguard
Award. Rhys William Evans (11E) has secured
the lead role in a short film. Good luck
to Luke Morley (11E) who will be completing
his grade 5 music theory exam. Congratulations
to Thomas Dwyer (11E) on completing
grade 8 on the drums and to Megan Woolmer
(11E) on passing grade 6 on the piano with
merit. Well done to Rebecca te Water Naude
(11O) on completing the Blades 1 ‘Learn to
Row’ course at channel view. Congratulations
to Elisabeth Britten (11O) on coming second
in show jumping in her very first show, dal ati!
Good luck to Hannah White (11K) who will
be sitting her grade 4 piano exam soon. Congratulations
to Elinor Brunker(11K) on completing
her young lifesaver award and working
towards her young life saver plus with St.
John’s Ambulance. Well done to Rhodri
Jones (11X) on passing grade 8 guitar with
distinction and Lukas Moser (11X) on passing
grade 4 on the drums. Good luck to Harrison
Stock (11X) with his lifeguard training. Congratulations
to Edward Betts(11R) on achieving
grade 7 on the guitar. Well done to Katie
Black (11R) on passing both her recent dance
examinations in ballet and disco. Congratulations
to Keira Ryan (11R) on achieving a
merit grade 3 violin. Well done to Megan
Morgan (11R) who has completed her master
Lifeguard Award. Congratulations to Peter
McDonough(11R) on sitting his grade 5 piano
and for taking part in the National Youth brass
band championship with the County music service.
Llongyfarchiadau i bawb on completing
Cardiff & Vale College courses and
Military Preparation School course in Cardiff.
The top 100 housepoint scorers of
Year 11 were taken on a reward trip to the
Harry Potter Studios near London. Despite
a longer than expected bus journey, the students
and staff were amazed by the sets and
models on display. They were taken on a
guided tour of all the iconic sets and would
thoroughly recommend the experience to
anyone!
The Year 11 Moodle pages have been successfully
developed and enhanced throughout
the year. They have proved to be an invaluable
source of information to pupils and
parents with details of exam timetables,
GCSE re-sits and homework clubs being
published there. In particular, key information
was communicated to pupils once the
GCSEs had commenced and pupils were on
study leave. Details of arrangements for results
day will be published via Moodle and
the school website, so please keep checking
for updates. Indeed, we look forward to results
day on Thursday 22 nd August where
we hope that the pupils’ hard work will be
suitably rewarded with excellent GCSE
grades. We wish Year 11 every success and
look forward to seeing many of the pupils
return to Year 12. We wish those not returning
to Stanwell all the best in their chosen
career paths.
