6/5 The Proponent shall:<br />
(a) pay SCA $100,000 by the end of 2011 to carry out<br />
catchment improvement works within the Woronora<br />
catchment area; or<br />
(b) carry out catchment improvement works within this area that<br />
have an equivalent value to the satisfaction of SCA.<br />
Offsets<br />
6/6 If the Proponent exceeds the performance measures in Table 1 of this<br />
approval, and either<br />
(a) the contingency measures implemented by the Proponent<br />
have failed to remediate the impact; or<br />
(b) the Director-General determines that it is not reasonable or<br />
feasible to remediate the impact, then the Proponent shall<br />
provide a suitable offset to compensate for the impact to the<br />
satisfaction of the Director-General.<br />
Note: Any offsets required under this condition must be proportionate<br />
with the significance of the impact.<br />

Environmental Management Strategy<br />
7/1 The Proponent shall prepare and implement an Environmental<br />
Management Strategy for the project to the satisfaction of the Director-<br />
General. The strategy must:<br />
(a) be submitted to the Director-General for approval by the end<br />
of September 2009;<br />
(b) provide the strategic framework for environmental<br />
management of the project;<br />

<strong>Metropolitan</strong> <strong>Coal</strong> has consulted with SCA and<br />
propose to carry out two projects (rehabilitation of a<br />
walking track and a quarry site within the SCA area)<br />
plus a weed control program, following agreement<br />
with SCA. The consultation with SCA in relation to<br />
these projects is planned to occur in December<br />
2011.<br />
The Environmental Management Strategy has been<br />
prepared and the strategy implemented for the<br />
<strong>Metropolitan</strong> <strong>Coal</strong> operations:<br />
