PROFESSIONAL<br />
n In 2012, played 18 events, made 12 cuts. Posted<br />
4 top 10 finishes: T3rd at ISPS Handa <strong>Ladies</strong> British<br />
Masters, T6th in both Slovakia and South Africa and<br />
T9th in Tenerife. Earned €70,020.38 and finished 38th<br />
on the Order of Merit.<br />
n In 2011, Ashleigh played in 20 events and recorded<br />
her second career win at the Portugal <strong>Ladies</strong> Masters<br />
at Campo Real. She also recorded five top-10 finishes,<br />
including tied 3rd at Sanya <strong>Ladies</strong> Open in China, tied<br />
5th at <strong>Ladies</strong> Scottish Open, joint 6th at <strong>Ladies</strong> Irish<br />
Open, tied for 7th at Lalla Meryem Cup, tied for 9th at<br />
Raiffeisenbank Prague Masters.<br />
n In 2010, Ashleigh played in 18 events with a season<br />
best 3rd place in the Unicredit <strong>Ladies</strong> German Open and<br />
a tie for 3rd at the ABN AMRO <strong>Ladies</strong> Open. Ashleigh<br />
finished 14th on the Henderson Money List with season<br />
earnings of €103,759.10.<br />
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS<br />
Ashleigh turned professional a day after her 18th birthday<br />
and made her professional debut playing on an invitation<br />
at the 2007 Deutsche Bank <strong>Ladies</strong> Swiss Open. Ashleigh<br />
became the second youngest ever winner on the <strong>LET</strong><br />
after Amy Yang and the youngest ever professional<br />
winner at the age of 18 years and 37 days when she<br />
won the 2007 Catalonia <strong>Ladies</strong> Masters. As a result<br />
of her win Ashleigh became a Category 3 member<br />
(tournament winner) of the <strong>LET</strong> on 9th July 2008. In 2009<br />
on the LPGA, Ashleigh made 7 cuts from 15 starts and<br />
recorded a U.S. career-best tie for 23rd at the Navistar<br />
LPGA Classic Presented by Monaco RV.<br />
AMATEUR<br />
Ashleigh’s amateur career was nothing short of<br />
outstanding. She won the <strong>Ladies</strong>’ club championships<br />
at her club, the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington<br />
Golf Club, for the six years prior to her turning<br />
professional, the first time was when she was 12 years<br />
old. The club made her an honorary life member in 2004.<br />
In 2003 she became the youngest amateur to receive<br />
full South African colours when she played No.1 for her<br />
country in the Commonwealth tournament aged 14. In<br />
2004 she was the youngest player to win the WPGA<br />
<strong>Ladies</strong> South African Open on the Women’s Professional<br />
<strong>Tour</strong> and was the only amateur to have won it. She won<br />
at least one WPGA <strong>Tour</strong> event each year. She won the<br />
Jack Newton Junior International Classic in Australia in<br />
2004. In the same year she represented SA at the World<br />
Amateur Golf Championships in Puerto Rico, at 15 years<br />
of age. She also represented SA in the Women’s World<br />
Cup of Golf as an amateur from 2005-2007. In 2006<br />
Ashleigh won the SA amateur double and made a mark<br />
in the USA by winning the AJGA Rolex <strong>Tour</strong>nament of<br />
Champions, being named a First Team Rolex Junior<br />
All American. She qualified for the Weetabix Women’s<br />
British Open and received invitations to play in two other<br />
<strong>Ladies</strong> <strong>European</strong> <strong>Tour</strong> events. The highlight of 2006 was<br />
Ashleigh and her team-mates winning the World Amateur<br />
Golf Championships on home turf in Cape Town. In total,<br />
Ashleigh received seven invitations to play in <strong>Ladies</strong><br />
<strong>European</strong> <strong>Tour</strong> events as an amateur, in addition to<br />
three World Cups. In 2005, she played in the<br />
Scandinavian TPC and the Wales <strong>Ladies</strong> Championship;<br />
in 2006 she played in the Scandinavian TPC, the Wales<br />
<strong>Ladies</strong> Championship and the Dubai <strong>Ladies</strong> Masters<br />
and in 2007 she played in the MFS Women’s Australian<br />
Open, where she was the leading amateur in 20th place,<br />
and in the ANZ <strong>Ladies</strong> Masters, Australia. On 12th March<br />
2007 Ashleigh won the WPGA SA Open for the second<br />
time in three years as an amateur. She also finished as<br />
the leading points’ scorer on the WPGA <strong>Ladies</strong>’ <strong>Tour</strong><br />
as a 17-year-old amateur. Ashleigh then won her third<br />
SA Amateur title becoming the only player in 101 years<br />
of the tournament to win it 3 times and win the double<br />
strokeplay and matchplay back-to-back. Her final<br />
appearance as an amateur was to represent South<br />
Africa in the 2007 Commonwealth <strong>Tour</strong>nament, at<br />
her home club, the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington<br />
GC in May 2007. Turned professional in May 2007<br />
with a handicap of +3.<br />
