n In 2005, made debut on the <strong>European</strong> Solheim Cup<br />
Team. Karen played in five <strong>LET</strong> events with her best finish<br />
5th at the <strong>Ladies</strong> English Open at Chart Hills in her home<br />
county of Kent. Karen shone in the major championships<br />
and put up a strong defence of her Weetabix Women's<br />
British Open title at Royal Birkdale, where she finished<br />
T11. She posted one further top twenty finish of T18 at<br />
the ANZ <strong>Ladies</strong> Masters, in Australia. Karen also<br />
represented England at the 2005 Women's World Cup of<br />
Golf in South Africa alongside Laura Davies, and the pair<br />
finished T9. Karen was one of Catrin Nilsmark's five wild<br />
card picks and made her Solheim Cup debut at Crooked<br />
Stick GC, in Carmel, Indiana. She spent most of the<br />
season competing on the LPGA <strong>Tour</strong> where her best<br />
finish from 23 events played was T10 at the US Women's<br />
Open at Cherry Hills Village in June. Earned $304,385.00<br />
to close the season T41st on the ADT Money list.<br />
n In 2004 earned 2 victories. After a maiden victory at the<br />
Welch/Fry's Championship on the LPGA <strong>Tour</strong>, Karen<br />
went from strength to strength through the season and<br />
thrilled the galleries at Sunningdale when she became the<br />
third English woman to win a major championship when<br />
she won the Weetabix Women's British Open in a<br />
sparkling display of golf in the final round which included<br />
an eagle/albatross start to her 64! Karen played in four<br />
<strong>LET</strong> events and finished second at the ANZ Masters<br />
behind a rampant Annika Sorenstam at Royal Pines.<br />
Finished T3 at the <strong>Ladies</strong> English Open in her home<br />
county of Kent and finished fourth at the Evian Masters,<br />
a week before Sunningdale. On the LPGA, Karen posted<br />
five further top 10s and seven top 20s to close the<br />
season at 6th on the ADT Money list earning $968,852.<br />
n In 2003, best finish was fourth place at the State<br />
Farm Classic.<br />
n In 2002, posted a career-best tie for third at the<br />
Safeway Classic.<br />
n In 2001, recorded a season-best tie for ninth at the<br />
ShopRite LPGA Classic.<br />
n In 2000, best finish was seventh place at the Kathy<br />
Ireland Greens.com LPGA Classic.<br />
n In 1999, fired a career-low 64 in the opening round of<br />
the State Farm Rail Classic en route to a tie for eighth<br />
place; returned to the LPGA Final Qualifying <strong>Tour</strong>nament,<br />
where she tied for 17th to earn exempt status for the<br />
2000 season.<br />
n In 1998, turned professional following the U.S.<br />
Women's Amateur Championship; qualified for the<br />
<strong>Tour</strong> by tying for 52nd at the LPGA Final Qualifying<br />
<strong>Tour</strong>nament to earn non-exempt status for the<br />
1999 season.<br />
AMATEUR<br />
Represented Great Britain in the 1996 and 1998 Curtis<br />
Cup competitions. She also represented England Juniors<br />
from 1989-91 and England Seniors from 1995-98.<br />
She played collegiate golf at Florida State University,<br />
winning two events and being named a Second-Team<br />
All-American in 1995.<br />
PERSONAL<br />
165cm, light-brown hair, hazel eyes. Started playing<br />
golf at the age of 11. Lists her parents as the individuals<br />
most influencing her career. Has one sister. Gave birth to<br />
first son, Logan James, in April 2007. Hobbies include<br />
cooking, watching movies, football and shopping.<br />
