Buenavista Golf Club and the Open de France Feminin<br />

at Paris International Golf Club, where she defeated<br />

Italy’s Diana Luna on the first play-off hole. Johnson<br />

achieved Life Membership of the <strong>LET</strong> according to the<br />

<strong>LET</strong>’s qualifying criteria with 20 points, after the <strong>LET</strong><br />

Membership voted to award points to winners of the<br />

Comunitat Valenciana <strong>European</strong> Nations Cup<br />

n In 2008, represented England at the inaugural VCI<br />

<strong>European</strong> <strong>Ladies</strong> Golf Cup at La Sella Resort in Spain<br />

and won the event partnering Rebecca Hudson.<br />

n In 2007, won the BMW <strong>Ladies</strong> Italian Open at Sheraton<br />

Parco de- Medici in Rome and qualified automatically for<br />

eighth appearance on the <strong>European</strong> Solheim Cup Team.<br />

Posted a 0-1-2 win-loss-draw record at Halmstad taking<br />

all-time Solheim record to 5-13-7.<br />

n In 2005, finished second at the Arras Open de France<br />

Dames and Wales <strong>Ladies</strong> Championship in 2005 which<br />

secured a place on the <strong>European</strong> Solheim Cup team.<br />

n In 2004, won the Wales <strong>Ladies</strong> Open in fine style with<br />

a closing 8-under par 65 to deny close friend Laura<br />

Davies. Finished second on the OOM behind Davies,<br />

n In 2000, represented Europe for sixth time in the 2000<br />

Solheim Cup and helped to secure 2.5 out of a possible<br />

straight birdies.<br />

n In 1996, Set <strong>Tour</strong> records in the 1996 French Open<br />

at Le Golf d’Arras with opening round of 62 followed<br />

by 36-hole total of 130 and 200 for 54 holes. Missed<br />

first cut in 30 tournaments at the 1996 Weetabix<br />

Women’s British Open.<br />

n In 1992, Shared individual honours with Lotta<br />

Neumann in 1992 World Team Championship in Taiwan.<br />

Beat Patty Sheehan, US & British Open Champion, in<br />

Europe’s 1992 Solheim Cup triumph.<br />

n In 1990, completed four victories to win 1990 Order<br />

of Merit.<br />

n In 1987, Johnson turned professional and won<br />

three tournaments in her rookie season on the <strong>Ladies</strong><br />

<strong>European</strong> <strong>Tour</strong>, as well as finishing as the Rookie of the<br />

Year. She also won the LPGA’s Qualifying School at<br />

Sweetwater.<br />

Completed an outstanding amateur career by earning<br />

four out of four points when Great Britain & Ireland won<br />

Curtis Cup at Prairie Dunes in 1986. South Western<br />

Champion 1983, 1984. England Under-23 and Under-21<br />

Champion 1984. England Amateur Champion, England<br />

Strokeplay Champion, England Under-23 Champion<br />

1985. Represented GB&I in World Amateur Team<br />

Championship 1986.<br />

PERSONAL<br />

179cm with brown hair and brown eyes. Excellent record<br />

in tough conditions after learning game on Royal North<br />

Devon's exposed links at Westward Ho. Coached by<br />

Richard Lawless, from The Wiltshire Golf Club. One of<br />

Arsenal FC's biggest fans and attends every match while<br />

she is at home and enjoys a healthy banter about football<br />

with Solheim Cup partner and close friend Laura Davies.<br />
