Captured the Nabisco Championship, to mark her first major victory since 1996. Won both events in Japan to total eight wins on the season. Became first ever player to break the $2 million barrier in one season. Finished in the top twenty 20 times in 26 starts. 2002 - Set or tied 20 records on her way to winning 13 times around the world in 2002. Won her fourth major at the Nabisco Championship. In 2003 Annika won the ADT money list on the LPGA breaking the $2million mark for the second straight season Annika won the Office Depot Championship Hosted by Amy Alcott, the Kellogg- Keebler Classic, the McDonald's LPGA Championship, Weetabix Women's British Open, completing the Career Grand Slam, the Safeway Classic and she three-peated at the Mizuno Classic. Also placed second at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, tied for second at the LPGA Takefuji Classic and the Giant Eagle LPGA Classic, tied for third at the Safeway PING Presented by Yoplait, finished fourth at the Samsung World Championship, placed sixth at the Michelob Light Open at Kingsmill, placed fourth at the U.S. Women's Open. Also won the Solheim Cup with Europe at Barsebäck. Became the first woman in 58 years to play on the PGA Tour when she teed up at the Colonial Bank of America Tournament in Fort Worth. In 2004, won half of the events she played in with ten victories around the world. In 2005, won eleven events around the world including two majors: the Kraft Nabisco Championship and the McDonald’s LPGA Championship, taking her total tally of majors to nine. Collected her eighth Rolex Player of the Year award and eighth ADT Official Money List title on the LPGA Tour. Won her sixth Vare Trophy with the fourth lowest scoring average in LPGA history, 69.33. Became the only player in LPGA history to sweep Rolex Player of the Year honours, the Vare Trophy and the ADT Official Money List title five times (Kathy Whitworth earned all three in 1966, 1967, 1971 and 1972).Won four points out of a possible five at The 2005 Solheim Cup at Crooked Stick and became the event’s all-time leading points earner with 21 1 ⁄2 points. In 2006, her second place finish at the John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic hoisted her over the $20 million mark in career earnings ($20,000,980). Won her 10th major championship at the US Women’s Open. In 2008 Annika, the greatest female golfer for a generation, stepped away from competitive play at the end of the 2008 season following the Dubai Ladies Masters in the UAE. At the time of her stepping away she was ranked 3rd in the world and still very much on her game. She won four times around the world in 2008, Ladies European Tour 2013 138
with one win on the LET and three titles on the US LPGA Tour: the SBS OPEN at Turtle Bay, Stanford International Pro-Am, 2008 Michelob ULTRA Open. Secured her 89th career title at the inaugural Suzhou Taihu Ladies Open in China on the Ladies European Tour. Defeating China's Li Ying Ye at the second extra hole of a sudden death playoff. AMATEUR Finalist US Amateur Championship 1992. Best individual World Amateur Team Championship 1992. Won seven collegiate titles while at University of Arizona, College Player of Year 1991. In 1995, she won the Athlete of the Year Award in Sweden, the country's most prestigious award in sports. Sister of Charlotta, fellow tour professional golfer. Annika started playing golf at the age of 12. Authored her first book, Golf Annika's Way, which was released in October 2004. In June 2008, Annika was named a USGA Ambassador. Annika has worked hard on her off-the-course businesses, which include the ANNIKA Academy, the ANNIKA Foundation, the ANNIKA Collection with Cutter & Buck, ANNIKA Financial Group, numerous golf course design projects, tournaments she hosts, along with her website and blog. New projects include an ANNIKA fragrance and wine, both launching in May 2009.Annika stepped away from competitive play at the end of the 2008 season. She married second husband Mike McGee on 10th January 2009 at Lake Nona near her home in Orlando, Florida. McGee, the son of former PGA TOUR and CHAMPIONS TOUR golfer Jerry McGee, has served as Managing Director for the ANNIKA brand of businesses since Dec. 2006, when he relocated to Orlando.
