n In 2012, Christel played 6 <strong>LET</strong> events. She recorded<br />
two more victories: firstly at the Gold Coast RACV<br />
Australian <strong>Ladies</strong> Masters and secondly at the Turkish<br />
Airlines <strong>Ladies</strong> Open where she successfully defended<br />
the title. She finished the season ranked 14th on the ISPS<br />
Handa Order of Merit, with earnings of €104,884 and<br />
ranked 11th on The Solheim Cup points list.<br />
n In 2011, Christel earned a long overdue maiden victory<br />
as an individual at the Turkish Airlines <strong>Ladies</strong> Open at<br />
National Golf Club in Belek, Antalya, in May. She posted<br />
five additional top-10 finishes, including second places in<br />
Slovakia and Finland. She finished the season ranked<br />
eighth on the Money List with earnings of €161,171.99.<br />
Christel made history as the first <strong>European</strong> Solheim Cup<br />
team member from the Netherlands in the 22-year history<br />
of the event. She qualified automatically from the<br />
<strong>European</strong> points standings after two consistent seasons<br />
on tour. She earned a vital point towards Europe’s historic<br />
victory after defeating Brittany Lincicome by two holes in<br />
the singles.<br />
n In 2010, recorded seven top-10 finishes including<br />
joint runner-up three times. Tied for second at the<br />
Suzhou Taihu <strong>Ladies</strong> Open in China, narrowly missing<br />
out to Lee-Anne Pace in a four-way play-off. Also tied<br />
for second at the Turkish Airlines <strong>Ladies</strong> Open and the<br />
S4C Wales <strong>Ladies</strong> Championship.<br />
n In 2009, Christel enjoyed a sensational start to her<br />
professional career when she and Marjet van der Graaff<br />
claimed a four stroke victory at the Comunitat Valenciana<br />
<strong>European</strong> Nations Cup, representing the Netherlands at<br />
La Sella Golf Resort in Alicante, Spain.<br />
n Posted a career low 66 (-6) in the first round of the<br />
Open de Espana Femenino at Panoramica G&CC.<br />
n Finished 35th on the season-ending Henderson Money<br />
List with earnings of €48,892.83.<br />

PERSONAL<br />
Christel started to play golf at the age of 7. She enjoys<br />
all sports, especially field hockey and tennis. Interests<br />
also include listening to music and reading. She studied<br />
Spanish for two-and-a-half years at Purdue University<br />
in the USA as well as a semester of Sociology, but left<br />
university after three years to pursue golf as a career.<br />
