< Identify strategies that will be used to teach students to transfer skills learned to other<br />

environments, people, etc.<br />

• Response protocol<br />

< Identify a planned response to:<br />

S defuse the behaviour. (Interventions focus on preventing future problem behaviours and<br />

keeping the student on task.)<br />

S deal <strong>with</strong> out of control behaviours that pose a risk of injury to the student or others.<br />

(Interventions focus on safety)<br />

S support recovery after the behaviour. (Interventions focus on re-establishing routines.<br />

This includes a re-entry plan, which may be to a specific activity, the classroom, or<br />

school)<br />

< Identify the persons responsible at each stage of the response protocol.<br />

• Evaluation Plan and Schedule<br />

< Identify how you will evaluate the plan’s effectiveness.<br />

< Monitor the intervention and evaluate the outcomes.<br />

< Determine a schedule for reviewing/modifying the plan. Include dates and criteria for<br />
