Marketing autorisation: veterinary drugs cannot be<br />
marketed without official approval (from the Agriculture<br />
Ministry, Health Ministry, Drug Agency, etc.), granted after<br />
a dossier is filed, with proof of the product’s efficacy,<br />
harmlessness and quality: this is the Marketing<br />
autorisation.<br />
Endectocide: parasitic drug active both on internal and<br />
external parasites.<br />
Registration: see marketing autorisation.<br />
Electronic identification: animal identification by a tiny<br />
subcutaneous implant containing a microchip called a<br />
transponder. A specific scanner reads at a distance the<br />
unique animal ID number engraved on the transponder.<br />
Interferon: a protein with anti-viral properties used in the<br />
treatment of certain serious diseases, such as retroviruses<br />
or hepatitis.<br />
Ivermectin: principal endectocide molecule (active both<br />
in internal and external parasites).<br />
