Overview<br />
General Information<br />
PACCAR recommends that the<br />
engine be maintained according to the<br />
maintenance schedule in this section.<br />
If the engine is operating in ambient<br />
temperatures below 0°F (-18°C)<br />
or above 100°F (38°C), perform<br />
maintenance at shorter intervals.<br />
Shorter maintenance intervals are also<br />
required if the engine is operated in a<br />
Oil Drain Interval Guidelines<br />
dusty environment or if frequent stops<br />
are made.<br />
Some of these maintenance<br />
procedures require special tools<br />
or must be completed by qualified<br />
personnel. Contact your local<br />
PACCAR authorized repair location for<br />
detailed information.<br />
If your engine is equipped with<br />
a component or accessory not<br />
manufactured by PACCAR Inc, refer<br />
to the component manufacturer’s<br />
maintenance recommendations.<br />
Maintenance Guidelines<br />
Oil Drain Intervals<br />
Oil drain interval recommendations are<br />
based on vehicle application or engine<br />
duty cycle. PACCAR recommends<br />
the use of high quality lubricating oil<br />
as indicated in the Lubricating Oil<br />
Recommendations on page 5-16 in the<br />
Maintenance Specifications Section.<br />
