INSTALLATION
This chapter tells you how to install the required software components as well
as how to hook up the hardware.
Production Software
Installing QuickTime
▼ IMPORTANT: When installing
QuickTime manually, make
sure you install all components
by choosing the Custom install
option. If you don’t do this,
some functions in WATCHOUT
(eg, use of certain image formats)
may not work.
Obtain the “WATCHOUT Production Software Installer”, either by downloading
it from the web at
http://www.dataton.se/products/watchout/
or by ordering the WATCHOUT CD-ROM.
Run the installer and follow the onscreen instructions.
If you installed the WATCHOUT production software from the WATCHOUT
CD-ROM, QuickTime has already been installed as part of the CD-ROM installation.
If you downloaded WATCHOUT from the web, QuickTime is not included due
to licensing restrictions. In this case, unless you already have QuickTime
installed, you need to obtain it from Apple:

The above installer is small and downloads quickly. However, it will need
Internet access to install QuickTime itself, since it downloads the various
components piecemeal. If you prefer to get the complete package before
installing, you can do so here:
