succeed in lifting him Only those who have won the Grace of<br />

Sri Rama could move Lakshmana!<br />

Meghanada returned to the battle very soon. He rained on the<br />

Vanaras 34 this time not only sharp arrows, but spears, maces,<br />

axes, pestles, and boulders………………. Lakshmana fixed<br />

sacred arrows on his bow; and invoking on it the might and<br />

majesty of Rama, aimed it at Meghanada, wherever he might be.<br />

That arrow entered the heart of Meghanada and ended his life.<br />

Two sons of Kumbhakarna and Prahastha 35 and Mahodara<br />

meet their death:<br />

Another day dawned. War drums could be heard from the<br />

Rakshasa camp. That day the enemy generalissimo was<br />

Dhoomraksha. He fought desperately, but he was killed the next<br />

day by Hanuman…. Angada led the Vanaras against Akampa,<br />

and he was able to kill the Rakshasa general that very day.<br />

Hearing that Akampa had met his death at the hands of the<br />

enemy, Prahastha rushed into the battlefield….. Leaping on him<br />

<strong>with</strong> terrible ferocity, Nila succeeded in killing the new general,<br />

Prahastha. Mahodara came next. Hanuman jumped on him <strong>with</strong> a<br />

reverberating roar, and fought <strong>with</strong> him, tooth and nail. Soon, he<br />

was able to cut Mahodara into pieces.<br />
