Comments: Taqa plans to develop Falc<strong>on</strong> and Tern North as subsea tiebacks to the Tern<br />
platform which it operates. First, however, it has to prove they c<strong>on</strong>tain hydrocarb<strong>on</strong>s – this will<br />
be d<strong>on</strong>e by semisub Stena Spey which started a four-well programme in early Apr with an<br />
appraisal well <strong>on</strong> Tern North. Start-up could take place in 2011 or 2012. Combined reserves<br />
are estimated at 5-25m bbl.<br />

Comments: Apache plans the further development of the Forties field with the installati<strong>on</strong> of<br />
two satellite wellhead platforms. Each 18-slot platform will have a 2,000t topsides, 4,600t<br />
jacket and 3,700t of piles. An EPCI tender for the first was issued in Dec. A FEED c<strong>on</strong>tract has<br />
now been awarded to SLP North Sea, part of the SLP group which is not in administrati<strong>on</strong>;<br />
assuming the project is sancti<strong>on</strong>ed, this will lead into fabricati<strong>on</strong>, which will take place at SLP’s<br />
Tyneside yard. The platform, which is due to be installed in 2011, will be bridge-linked to<br />
Forties Delta and the sec<strong>on</strong>d to Forties Alpha. Drilling is likely to be carried out by a jackup as<br />
the water depth is just over 100 metres.<br />
