6.3 Results: Adaptation strategy of rain-fed farmer in lower Mekong River basin to<br />
climate impacts<br />
Surveyed farmers identified numerous practices currently in use in their<br />
communities in Lao PDR, Thailand and that in their consideration lessen their<br />
vulnerability to present day climate variability and hazards. Some of the measures are<br />
motivated primarily by climate risks, while others are motivated by other concerns yet<br />
nonetheless reduce climate risks by increasing the resilience of farmers’ livelihoods to<br />
multiple sources of stress. They include measures that are implemented at the individual<br />
farm-level (see Table 13), the community-level (see Table 14), and the national-level (see<br />
Table 15).<br />
