National Agencies and Organizations<br />

This appendix lists the national offices of selected agencies and organizations that<br />

can help on various aspects of multi-objective management. In most cases, you<br />

should contact the local or state office.<br />

An excellent <strong>in</strong>itial source of <strong>in</strong>formation is the M.O.M. Resource<br />

Direc<strong>to</strong>ry prepared jo<strong>in</strong>tly by the Federal Emergency <strong>Management</strong> Agency and the<br />

National Park Service. It is a computer program that lists over 300 government<br />

and private programs. It is easy <strong>to</strong> <strong>in</strong>stall and use. The software is designed <strong>to</strong> run<br />

<strong>in</strong> W<strong>in</strong>dows® and is available free from<br />

The State Coord<strong>in</strong>at<strong>in</strong>g Office for the National <strong>Flood</strong> Insurance Program is the<br />

recommended first po<strong>in</strong>t of contact for more <strong>in</strong>formation or assistance on<br />

floodpla<strong>in</strong> management programs.<br />
