出 過 。 比 如 , 演 出 前 道 具 鼓 的 架 子 沒 準 備 好 , 一 推 散 架
了 ; 頭 飾 戴 反 了 等 等 。 幸 好 每 次 都 有 同 學 、 老 師 幫 忙 ,
最 終 沒 出 甚 麼 紕 漏 。 每 次 出 了 問 題 , 我 也 很 難 過 , 後
來 就 自 己 學 著 把 問 題 都 寫 下 來 , 演 出 前 逐 一 檢 查 。」
現 在 , 已 經 參 加 了 六 年 巡 演 的 美 淨 , 已 經 是 團
裏 經 驗 豐 富 的 大 姊 姊 了 。「 記 得 剛 來 時 , 我 看 到 那
些 老 團 員 們 看 上 去 都 好 美 , 接 觸 之 後 , 覺 得 她 們 內
在 也 特 別 美 , 為 人 很 和 善 。 我 當 時 就 好 羨 慕 , 希 望
自 己 將 來 也 能 像 她 們 一 樣 。 現 在 , 我 相 信 自 己 也 可
以 做 到 她 們 的 樣 子 。 我 已 經 開 始 去 照 顧 新 人 , 遇 到
問 題 時 去 帶 她 們 。 這 讓 我 覺 得 自 己 長 大 了 , 比 之 前
更 獨 立 、 更 自 信 。」
美 淨 的 這 份 成 熟 自 信 , 被 老 師 和 編 導 們 看 在 了 眼
裏 。 在 今 年 的 「 神 韻 」 全 球 巡 演 中 , 美 淨 扮 演 了 《 哪
吒 鬧 海 》 中 哪 吒 母 親 一 角 。「 當 老 師 找 到 我 時 , 我 還
以 為 他 們 在 開 玩 笑 , 結 果 是 真 的 。 想 想 在 去 年 的 《 智
收 沙 和 尚 》 中 , 我 還 扮 演 小 孩 子 , 今 年 居 然 就 要 演 母
親 , 真 是 有 點 不 知 所 措 。」 美 淨 找 了 團 裏 幾 乎 所 有 當
過 媽 媽 的 人 去 問 , 當 媽 媽 到 底 是 甚 麼 感 覺 。 然 後 , 自
己 對 著 鏡 子 一 遍 遍 的 練 習 表 情 和 動 作 , 體 會 這 位 母 親
生 下 兒 子 的 不 易 , 對 調 皮 兒 子 的 疼 愛 和 擔 憂 。 回 想 今
年 年 初 演 出 時 , 觀 眾 們 對 這 個 節 目 熱 烈 的 現 場 反 應 ,
美 淨 的 辛 苦 付 出 應 該 是 得 到 了 最 佳 的 回 報 吧 !
「 我 很 喜 歡 『 神 韻 』 演 出 中 的 舞 劇 , 裏 面 講 述
了 中 國 歷 史 上 一 些 很 著 名 的 故 事 , 有 些 帶 給 我 很 多 啟
示 。 比 方 跳 《 花 木 蘭 》 時 , 我 對 傳 統 中 國 女 性 的 品 格
有 了 更 多 的 認 識 。」 在 西 方 人 眼 中 , 東 方 女 性 都 比 較
溫 和 、 內 斂 、 羞 澀 , 但 這 並 不 是 現 代 人 認 為 的 卑 微 ,
或 是 對 自 身 的 不 認 可 、 不 自 信 。 中 國 古 代 的 女 子 同 樣
遵 守 著 忠 、 孝 、 仁 、 義 、 禮 、 智 、 信 等 這 些 傳 統 的 中
華 美 德 , 一 個 擁 有 這 樣 的 美 德 的 人 , 內 心 無 愧 、 安 寧
坦 然 , 在 舉 止 動 作 上 自 然 是 溫 婉 嫻 雅 、 謙 恭 有 禮 。
「 中 國 古 代 的 女 子 她 們 知 道 自 己 做 為 一 位 女 性 應 該 承
擔 的 責 任 , 也 認 可 自 己 的 價 值 和 才 能 。 像 花 木 蘭 為 了
盡 孝 去 替 年 邁 的 父 親 打 仗 , 她 完 成 了 一 位 女 兒 應 盡 的
義 務 , 同 時 也 實 現 了 自 己 的 價 值 , 我 想 這 種 美 德 才 是
自 信 和 堅 強 的 力 量 源 泉 。」
美 淨 告 訴 我 們 , 剛 剛 去 朋 友 家 裏 , 她 玩 得 很 開
心 。 她 變 得 比 過 去 更 活 躍 , 大 家 談 到 的 話 題 , 她 也
會 發 表 一 些 看 法 。 而 她 的 媽 媽 , 對 這 個 已 經 登 上 過
世 界 各 地 最 頂 級 劇 院 舞 臺 的 小 女 兒 , 也 不 再 那 麼 嚴
格 。「 她 現 在 開 始 對 我 放 手 了 , 因 為 她 知 道 我 已 經
長 大 了 , 可 以 照 顧 好 自 己 。」 美 淨 開 心 地 說 。
When she didn’t feel brave enough to attempt the
intimidating flip, she persevered. “I practiced flipping
with my hands touching the ground continuously
every day, 50 to 100 times. Then I did hundreds of
jumps to strengthen my legs.”
The team spirit among the dancers is powerful, Tu
noted, as though they’re all of one mind.
“Everyone would gather to practice Qian Ting.
And everyone would be tumbling back and forth on
the mats. It was an awesome sight,” she said.
“Suddenly I did it one day and I felt incredible. It
took me one year to master this technique.” With
this mastery, the determined dancer’s confidence
catapulted higher in every aspect of her life.
Strong, feminine roles
Tu’s teachers noticed her determination, maturity,
and growing confidence and assigned her exceptionally
strong yet feminine roles that highlighted traditional
virtues of Chinese women in ancient times. In
that year, on the world’s most revered stages, Dong
played the title role of Hua Mulan — a devoted
daughter who disguised herself as a man to take her
aging father’s place to fight for her country. In 2014,
Tu performed the role of a hero’s mother in Ne Zha
Churns the Sea.
The accomplished dancer reminisced about the early
days, how she didn’t prepare the drum stand well before
going on stage — it would fall apart with a slight
push — or she’d put her hairpiece on backwards.
“It’s lucky that my classmates and teachers helped
me every time, so no big problem happened. Every
time when I made those mistakes, I recorded the
glitches and checked them again before each performance,”
she added.
Now, Tu reaches out to mentor novice dancers,
helping them to walk the same arduous path to becoming
a professional classical Chinese dancer.
As we talked, the sun dipped lower in the sky and
the colours in the trees burned their brightest. When
our tête-à-tête came to an end, the young woman in
white stood up, bade farewell and made her way up
the stone steps with a poised, purposeful gait.
