Installing <strong>IO</strong> <strong>Libraries</strong> <strong>Suite</strong> 3<br />

Keeping Your Software Up To Date<br />

• Modify: Adds, replaces, or removes selected features.<br />

You can change your installation from primary to<br />

side- by- side or from side- by- side to primary by using<br />

this option. You can also use this to install manuals or<br />

sample code if you did not initially install them.<br />

• Repair: Reinstalls all features that are currently<br />

installed.<br />

• Remove: Removes the product from your PC.<br />

When you update the <strong>IO</strong> <strong>Libraries</strong> <strong>Suite</strong> software, you may<br />

choose to preserve your test system configuration. This<br />

includes the instruments, instrument aliases, interfaces, and<br />

Using <strong>Agilent</strong> 488 in Multi-Vendor Systems<br />

<strong>Agilent</strong> <strong>IO</strong> <strong>Libraries</strong> <strong>Suite</strong> includes the <strong>Agilent</strong> 488 library,<br />

provided for compatibility with National Instruments’<br />

NI- 488.2 and other vendors’ 488 libraries. <strong>Agilent</strong> 488 allows<br />

you to use your NI-488.2 compatible programs with <strong>Agilent</strong><br />

GPIB interfaces and other vendors’ interfaces (even<br />

simultaneously).<br />

If your test system includes only <strong>Agilent</strong> GPIB interface<br />

hardware and software, you do not need to take any special<br />

action to use <strong>Agilent</strong> 488.<br />

If your system includes NI- 488.2 software from National<br />

Instruments, or any other vendor’s compatible<br />
