(CRIS)<br />
CRIS provides radio broadcasts <strong>of</strong> read<strong>in</strong>gs from daily local and national<br />
newspapers, current magaz<strong>in</strong>es and books 24 hours a day. Listeners<br />
may be visually, physically, mentally or learn<strong>in</strong>g disabled and therefore<br />
unable to read or hold conventional pr<strong>in</strong>ted <strong>in</strong>formation. Radios are<br />
provided at no charge, to be kept as long as needed. Listeners can also<br />

The Connecticut State Library for the Bl<strong>in</strong>d and Physically Handicapped<br />

who is prevented by a visual or physical disability from read<strong>in</strong>g ord<strong>in</strong>ary-size<br />

Oak Hill is the largest private provider <strong>of</strong> services for <strong>people</strong> with disabilities<br />

employment; healthy relationships; recreation; and arts. Over 600 children<br />
and adults are served directly by Oak Hill <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g group home<br />
liv<strong>in</strong>g, and thousands <strong>of</strong> connections are made annually through its<br />
assistive technology program, the New England Assistive Technology<br />

Planned Lifetime Assistance Network (PLAN)<br />
<strong>of</strong> Connecticut<br />
The mission <strong>of</strong> PLAN is to assist families <strong>in</strong> plann<strong>in</strong>g for the future <strong>of</strong> a<br />
disabled family member and to provide cont<strong>in</strong>uity <strong>of</strong> services after the<br />
pr<strong>in</strong>cipal advocates/care-givers have died or are unable to cont<strong>in</strong>ue. PLAN<br />
<strong>help</strong>s families set up and manage trusts <strong>that</strong> supplement State and Federal<br />
benefits provided to the disabled <strong>in</strong>dividuals. Trusts <strong>help</strong> disabled<br />
loved ones to ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong> self sufficiency; prevent unnecessary hospitalizations;<br />

AA is a fellowship <strong>of</strong> men and women who have found a solution to<br />

to stop dr<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g. There are no dues or fees; AA is supported by voluntary<br />
