Town and City Services
Most municipalities offer some support services to their residents. Cities
and towns often provide food, clothing, special funds, employment, counseling,
information and referral, and case management. Many towns
have a Youth Service Bureau to help young people and a Municipal Agent
to assist the elderly. The nature and number of services provided varies,
but even when such services are not available through town government,
nearby community-based social service personnel can usually refer individuals
to the right place for assistance.
