III. HEALTH AND MENTAL HEALTH<br />

A. Identify youths at time <strong>of</strong> admission who have acute health problems or crisis<br />

mental health situations and following evaluation, ensure delivery <strong>of</strong><br />

appropriate health or mental health services.<br />

1) Percent <strong>of</strong> staff completing training in administering the health and<br />

mental health intake screening who passed a competency test at the end<br />

<strong>of</strong> the training<br />

2) Percent <strong>of</strong> youth presented for admission who have a health and mental<br />

health intake screening completed in one hour or less<br />

B. Provide health appraisals for all youth not released quickly, as well as<br />

behavioral, mental health and substance abuse evaluations where indicated.<br />

1) Percent <strong>of</strong> youth presented for admission whose health assessments<br />

were completed within seven days, or sooner as required by law<br />

2) Percent <strong>of</strong> youth presented for admission whose health assessments<br />
