The Paramedic Program at NFCC was developed to fulfill the requirements to practice, under medical<br />
direction, the art and science of out-of-hospital medicine. The goal of the program is to provide the<br />
graduate with the knowledge, skill and professional attributes associated with an entry-level paramedic<br />
position. Graduates are trained to prevent and reduce mortality and morbidity<br />
due to illness or injury. Successful completion of this course will enable the student to apply to take the<br />
State Registry Examination for Paramedics.<br />
The certificate program is 11 months in duration and may be articulated into the Associate in Science<br />
degree in Emergency Medical Services.<br />
Enrollment Requirements:<br />
Only completed application forms will be considered for enrollment in the Paramedic coursework.<br />
Applicants are notified of placement in the program when all admission criteria have been met.<br />

Completion of the NFCC application and payment of the $20 non-refundable application fee.<br />
Completed medical clearance forms.<br />
Documentation of high school graduation (transcript) or copy of GED. Exceptions to this rule<br />
will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.<br />
Documentation of birth date (driver’s license or birth certificate).<br />
Completion of background check.<br />
Achievement of the minimal score requirements of 83 in reading comprehension, 83 in<br />
sentence structure and 72 in arithmetic on the <strong>College</strong> Placement Test (CPT). A $10 fee is<br />
required at the time of testing.<br />
<strong>Florida</strong> licensure as an emergency medical technician (or must be eligible to sit for the state<br />
licensure exam during the first phase of the paramedic course).<br />
