law to business; the ethical<br />
and social responsibility of a<br />

on methods of accessing and<br />
evaluating information resources<br />
available through the Internet.<br />
Students will learn to design<br />
search strategies, retrieve,<br />
evaluate and cite Internet<br />
resources.<br />

LITERATURE II: Three<br />
Credits, Three Hours. (On<br />
Demand) A study of the rise<br />
of modern American literature.<br />
Literary trends and major<br />
writers of the period are<br />
stressed. Included are Whitman,<br />
Dickinson, Twain, James, and<br />
Eliot. (This is not a sequel<br />
course and may be taken<br />
without having AML <strong>2010</strong>.)<br />

ENL 2012. BRITISH<br />
LITERATURE I: Three<br />
Credits. Three Hours. (On<br />
Demand) A course designed to<br />
acquaint the student with the<br />
great masterpieces of English<br />
literature from Beowulf to the<br />
Age of Johnson. Prerequisite:<br />

ENL 2022. BRITISH<br />
LITERATURE II: Three<br />

Demand) Selected masterpieces<br />
of English literature from the<br />
Romantic Era to the Modern Era.<br />

LIT 1330. ESSENTIALS OF<br />
CHILDREN’S LITERATURE:<br />
Three Credits, Three Hours. (On<br />
Demand) Provides an overview<br />
of literature for adults who work<br />
with children, as well as ways<br />
literature can be used to further<br />
literacy and appreciation for<br />
literary heritage. This course<br />
cannot be used to satisfy<br />
either the Gordon Rule or<br />
NFCC’s literature/humanities<br />
requirement for transferable<br />
degrees. Prerequisite: ENC<br />

LIT 2020. SHORT STORY:<br />
Three Credits, Three Hours. (On<br />
Demand) A study of selected<br />
short stories written by authors<br />
from various countries in a time<br />
period ranging from the 19th<br />
century through the present.<br />
A study of the short ction will<br />
include tone, narration, form,<br />
and theme. Prerequisite: ENC<br />

LITERATURE I: Three Credits,<br />
Three Hours. (On Demand)<br />
A comprehensive survey that<br />
deals with the major works of<br />
the Western literary heritage.<br />
The reading selections range in<br />
time from Genesis and Homer<br />
to Renaissance literature.<br />
Prerequisite: ENC 1102.<br />
LIT 2120. WORLD<br />
LITERATURE II: Three<br />
Credits, Three Hours. (On<br />
Demand) A comprehensive<br />
survey that deals with the major<br />
works of the Western literary<br />
heritage. The reading selections<br />
range from the works of the<br />
Enlightenment Period to those<br />
of the Modern Era. This is not a<br />
sequel course and may be taken<br />
without having taken LIT 2110.<br />
Prerequisite: ENC 1102.<br />
LIT 2931R. SPECIAL TOPICS<br />
IN LITERATURE: Three<br />
Credits, Three Hours. (On<br />
Demand) Provides intensive<br />
reading in particular concept,<br />
topic or genre of popular literary<br />
appeal. Examples include<br />
women in literature, fantasy,<br />
science ction, horror, literature<br />
and lm, the historical novel. It<br />
may be repeated for credit with<br />
a change of topic. Prerequisite:<br />
ENC 1102.<br />
