THE CAMPUS<br />

Within walking distance of<br />

downtown Madison, the NFCC<br />

campus is situated on 165<br />

acres of beautiful wooded<br />

property and located in the<br />

center of NFCC’s six-county<br />

service area. The campus<br />

features nineteen buildings of<br />

contemporary design, a 20-<br />

acre outdoor environmental<br />

center, a 580-seat auditorium,<br />

a newly renovated tness and<br />

wellness center, one of the best<br />

college libraries in the state, a<br />

state of the art science learning<br />

center and public safety training<br />

facility, tall pines and hardwood<br />

trees, and ve small lakes.<br />

The Wardlaw-Smith-Goza<br />

Conference Center, an<br />

antebellum two-story mansion<br />

in downtown Madison, serves as<br />

the college conference center.<br />

The Green Industries Institute,<br />

a 64-acre site located in<br />

Monticello, serves as a satellite<br />

branch of NFCC.<br />

The main NFCC campus in<br />

Madison is off of I-10 near<br />

I-75, and is near such major<br />

<strong>Florida</strong> cities as Tallahassee and<br />

Jacksonville. NFCC is also just<br />

minutes away from the Georgia<br />

border and is a short distance<br />

from the Gulf of Mexico and<br />

cities bordering the Atlantic<br />

Ocean.<br />

Field dedicated in 1999.<br />

• The original Hardee Chapel<br />

was built in 1973 and<br />

dedicated to Mrs. Claire<br />

Hardee Parramore. It, along<br />

with several other buildings<br />

including Van H. Priest<br />

Auditorium, was destroyed<br />

by a tornado which swept<br />

the campus in 1988. The<br />

Hardee Center was built to<br />

replace the Hardee Chapel<br />

in 1993 and remodeled into<br />

the Hardee Center for the<br />

Arts in 2009.<br />

• The <strong>College</strong> Preparatory<br />

Education/Mathematics<br />

Classrooms Building, built in<br />

1959, was originally named<br />

the A.J. Hargrove Science<br />

Building. It was renovated<br />

and renamed in 2008.<br />

All of the buildings on campus<br />

are ADA accessible.<br />

FACILITIES<br />

Art Galleries<br />

Bacot Art Gallery<br />

The Bacot Art Gallery at<br />

NFCC was inaugurated in the<br />

autumn of 1975 and has been<br />

in continuous operation since<br />

that date. On March 3, 2006 a<br />

memorial plaque honoring the<br />

late Jules deRomand Bacot,<br />

professor of art and humanities<br />

at NFCC from 1969-1983, was<br />

unveiled and remains on display<br />

in the gallery. The Bacot Gallery<br />

is located in the Student Center,<br />

Bldg. 9.<br />

Hardee Center for the Arts<br />

In September 2009, the Hardee<br />

Center for the Arts opened in<br />

Bldg. 11. The Hardee Center for<br />

the Arts shows monthly exhibits<br />

of national and local artists.<br />

The Gallery is open Monday-<br />

Thursday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.<br />

Green Industries<br />

Institute (GII)<br />

The Green Industries Institute<br />

(GII) is located on Hwy 90<br />

just three (3) miles west of<br />

the Monticello Courthouse in<br />

Jefferson County <strong>Florida</strong>. GII<br />

is a satellite branch of NFCC.<br />

Its mission is to be a vibrant<br />

student centered institute,<br />

providing quality teaching,<br />

learning and community<br />

stewardship. Classes at GII<br />

include community education<br />

topics and academic subjects.<br />
