for meeting the course requirements of the program of study. The student’s record shall be updated<br />
by the Of ce of Enrollment Services to indicate accurately the program pursued.<br />
Withdrawing from Classes<br />
Withdrawal: Students may of cially withdraw from a course until mid-term and receive a “W”<br />
grade. To withdraw from a course, the student must complete and return the drop/withdrawal forms<br />
to the Of ce of Enrollment Services.<br />
Students may not withdraw except under extenuating circumstances after mid-term. The State Board<br />
of Education limits the number of times that a student may withdraw without penalty from a course.<br />
A student may withdraw from the same class twice without nancial rami cations. The third attempt<br />
of the same course will require the student to pay the full cost of instruction (equivalent to out of<br />
state tuition and fees). Upon the third attempt, the student will not be permitted to withdraw and<br />
will receive a grade for the course. For more information see course attempt limits under Academic<br />
Regulations.<br />
If special circumstances require a student to withdraw from a course or courses after the published<br />
deadline, the student may appeal to the Registrar for permission to withdraw and receive a refund<br />
for the course or courses in which he/she was enrolled. Withdrawing from a course may have future<br />
nancial consequences or may affect their eligibility or continued receipt of nancial aid. All students<br />
receiving nancial aid, scholarship aid, or veterans’ educational bene ts should talk to a Financial Aid<br />
Of ce representative (or Veteran’s Coordinator, if appropriate) BEFORE withdrawing from a course.<br />
Students who withdraw from a course do not receive a refund of course fees. Refunds are NOT<br />
authorized for changes in work schedule or for enrollment status changes due to illegal activities.<br />
Withdrawal from <strong>College</strong><br />
Any student seeking to withdraw from NFCC after the Drop/Add period must contact the Of ce of<br />
the Enrollment Services. All obligations (library books returned, nes and fees paid, equipment and<br />
uniforms returned, etc.) to the <strong>College</strong> must be satis ed. Students receiving nancial aid must meet<br />
with the Financial Aid Of cer. Students receiving VA educational bene ts must have an exit interview<br />
with the Veterans Coordinator. A student failing to comply with these procedures shall not be<br />
recommended to other colleges or universities.<br />
GRADUATION<br />
Requirements<br />
General requirements for graduation from NFCC include:<br />
1. Completing the prescribed hours and the general education requirements. A maximum of<br />
6 semester hours of accredited correspondence study may be used to complete degree<br />
requirements. Prior approval of correspondence study must be made through the Of ce of<br />
Enrollment Services.<br />
2. Earning a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 (average of C) at NFCC.<br />
3. A minimum of twenty- ve percent of the semester hours required for the associate degree must<br />
be earned through NFCC with a minimum grade point average of 2.0 (average of “C”).<br />
4. Filing an application for graduation prior to the deadline published in the <strong>College</strong> catalog or<br />
otherwise announced.<br />
5. Discharging all nancial obligations to NFCC and its agencies.<br />
Graduation Check<br />
All students are encouraged to request a graduation check from the Of ce of Enrollment Services.<br />
This check will be an overview of <strong>College</strong> requirements needed for graduation. This request should<br />
be made at the time the student has earned thirty-six (36) semester hours of credit or by mid-term<br />
of term prior to the term of the planned graduation date.<br />
