8. Employees<br />
<strong>TiGenix</strong> relies on a team of experienced<br />
professionals in all areas required to meet<br />
its strategic objectives including research<br />
and development, medical and regulatory,<br />
manufacturing, business development,<br />
product development, infrastructure,<br />
intellectual property and finance.<br />
On December 31, <strong>2012</strong>, <strong>TiGenix</strong> NV had<br />
a total of 27 permanent employees<br />
and mandate contractors (Full Time<br />
Equivalents). About 35 % work in research<br />
and development activities (including<br />
clinical development and manufacturing),<br />
about 29 % in commercial operations, the<br />
remainder in corporate functions. Corporate<br />
functions include finance, human resources,<br />
legal, ICT, business development, investor<br />
relations, and intellectual property.<br />
On December 31, <strong>2012</strong>, <strong>TiGenix</strong> SAU had a<br />
total of 34 permanent employees. About 71 %<br />
of these persons are engaged in research<br />
and development activities (including<br />
clinical development and manufacturing),<br />
the remainder in corporate functions.<br />
On December 31, <strong>2012</strong>, <strong>TiGenix</strong> BV had<br />
in total 6 permanent employees. All are<br />
working in manufacturing, which is classified<br />
in research and development activities.<br />
