• Senior Enterprise, Entrepreneurship & Employment<br />
• Indigenous opportunities: ‘<strong>Age</strong>-aware’ businesses throughout the County<br />
• FDI opportunities - Technologies for ‘longer living’<br />
• Collaboration between the public and private business support organisations and among<br />
businesses themselves.<br />
• Development of an <strong>Age</strong> <strong>Friendly</strong> Business Charter for use by all approved members<br />
• Creation an older consumer panel in collaboration with The Older People’s Council that will<br />
inform the action plan on an ongoing basis.<br />
• Devise an agreed cross sector business plan over the short, medium and long term<br />
Membership of the Forum<br />
Membership is open to all businesses operating in the County. Members must be interested in<br />
developing as an <strong>Age</strong> <strong>Friendly</strong> Business.<br />
Members will commit time and resources to achieving the aims of the Forum<br />
Structure<br />
The Business of <strong>Age</strong>ing Forum will:<br />
• Establish a Forum Executive which will comprise of a Chairperson and Secretary and will have a<br />
membership that is representative of cross sector of services and business groups<br />
• The Forum Chair will sit on the Economic Forum and will represent the Business of <strong>Age</strong>ing Forum<br />
• Task Groups will be formed in order to achieve specific aims of the Forum in relation to<br />
industry specific initiatives and representatives from the broader group will be invited to work<br />
on these task groups<br />
• Economic Forum (subject to resource availability) will issue the minutes and agenda in advance<br />
of each meeting and provide secretariat support when required<br />
• The Chairperson will be elected annually by the members and must be a representative of the<br />
business community and sit on the forum representing a business interest.<br />
