and will report to the Alliance. The Secretariat to the Group will be provided by Galway County Council.<br />

Reporting<br />

The Implementation Group will report to the Alliance Board at its scheduled meetings. The report<br />

will be delivered by the Chair of the Implementation Group.<br />

Key Roles<br />

• Supporting the Alliance in officially launching the programme in the county<br />

• Preparation, promotion and roll out of the community consultation<br />

• Preparation of the consultation report<br />

• Mapping of existing programmes and projects which respond to priorities and identification of gaps<br />

• Proposals and suggestions of new actions and exploration of how future work can be done in partnership<br />

• Working closely with the relevant Older People’s Council to develop effective programmes<br />

• Launching the strategy<br />

• Ongoing implementation of actions within the strategy<br />

• Preparation of annual report<br />

• Public promotion of the <strong>Age</strong> <strong>Friendly</strong> programme<br />

Meetings<br />

The Implementation Group shall meet bi-monthly. The quorum at all meetings of the Group shall be 50%<br />

of the full membership. If at any time, there is not a quorum present, the meeting shall not proceed.<br />

Proposed Programme of Work<br />

• Briefing Seminar on Consultation – February 2012<br />

• Public Consultations over 4 weeks beginning 12 March 2012, ending 30 April<br />

• Preparation of Consultation Report June 2012<br />

• Preparation of 1st Draft of Strategic Plan July 2012<br />

• Present final plan to Alliance Board July 2012<br />

• Development of Older People’s Council – June/July 2012<br />

• Launch of Strategic Plan – September 2012<br />
