people will form the basis of the draft strategy.

Task Five:
Giving Feed back on Consultation Findings and
Proposed Solutions to Older People
Giving feedback to the older people who were involved in the consultation is the next
step in the process and also the key to seeing who is interested in joining an Older
People’s Council in your city/county. Following on from the Alliance meeting, it’s
very important to give those who partook in the consultations some feedback on
the progress... If possible, arrange two to three follow-up meetings in key locations
at suitable times. You might already have asked older people to leave their contact
details following the consultations. So at these feedback sessions, it’s also an ideal
opportunity to invite them to join the Older People’s Council in your area.
Publicise these meetings in advance in local libraries, through local radio stations, local
newspapers and through the various community, social and sporting organisations
who first publicised the consultations. These meetings are a reminder of the issues
raised and another opportunity for people to raise further concerns about different
aspects of their everyday lives. It’s important to have someone to record any extra
feedback from this session – even though it isn’t a formal consultation.
