The Department of Health Care Services’ veterans enhancement project helps<br />
veterans, who are receiving Medi-Cal services; obtain the veteran benefits they<br />
are entitled to. <strong>Veteran</strong>s receiving Medi-Cal services, may also qualify for federal<br />
benefits for themselves and their families. For more information, go to<br />

CALIFORNIA COUNTY ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES<br />
California’s public mental health system offers services ranging from traditional<br />
mental health treatment, including crisis intervention, medications, and a<br />
variety of rehabilitation services, to specifically address the recovery needs of<br />
adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses and children with serious<br />
emotional disturbances. Each county has an access telephone number, which<br />
can be called any time, day or night, for information on local mental health<br />

The Network of Care web site provides a comprehensive listing of mental health<br />
and other resources for service members, veterans and their families. Visit<br />
Network of Care at www.networkofcare.org and click on ‘Service Members,<br />
<strong>Veteran</strong>s & Their Families in California.’ Choose the county of residence, and click<br />
on ‘Service Directory’ to find the services needed.<br />

COURAGE TO CALL<br />
Courage to Call is dedicated to helping current and former service members,<br />
including those who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring<br />
Freedom. This dedication extends to military families and loved ones. All Courage<br />
to Call staff have been in the military or have been military family members. They<br />
have firsthand knowledge of the rigors of the military and military family life,<br />
constant deployments and transitioning out of the military. They are dedicated<br />
to helping veterans and their loved ones get the services and assistance they<br />
need and deserve. They can help veterans find supportive information, access<br />
