ADPs CARE (California Access to Recovery Effort) program, funded by the<br />

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), is<br />

specifically for service members up to the age of 25, including veterans, who<br />

are seeking treatment and recovery support services. The CARE program has<br />

providers in Butte, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Shasta, and Tehama counties. For<br />

CONFIDENTIAL ON-LINE SELF-ASSESSMENT SCREENING TOOLS<br />

<strong>Veteran</strong>s concerned about whether drugs or alcohol are harming their health and<br />

putting them at risk for other problems, can assess their consumption patterns<br />

using a free, confidential online tool. By answering a few short questions about<br />

past and present use of various drugs, such as marijuana, cocaine, tobacco,<br />

inhalants or alcohol users can get confidential feedback about the likely risks of<br />

drug and alcohol use and advice about when and where to seek more information,<br />

evaluation, and help. The assessment only takes a few minutes to complete and<br />

gives personalized confidential results based on age, gender, and use patterns so<br />

<strong>Resource</strong> Center maintains a toll-free statewide telephone number for those<br />

needing alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention and treatment information,<br />
