Bishop Williamson referred to the press. This “hidden truth” contradicted
observable reality. In the case of AIDS, Ellison claimed that there was a
plot created by the “homosexual mafia,” which had, itself, a vested interest
in arguing that a virus, and not their drug use, causes AIDS. I remember
thinking how irrational this theory was because homosexuals have nothing
to gain by being thought of as the source and carriers of a deadly, sexually
transmitted virus, instead of as simple drug users. Nevertheless, I did not
have the medical expertise to refute this theory, so I did not address the
problem in my mind at that time.
I would later realize that this is one of the tactics of the conspiracy
theorist: namely, to inundate the mind with specialized minutiae that cannot
be analyzed without a great deal of research. Even if the target of the propaganda
is disposed, as I was, to reject the conspiracy theory, he or she is not
necessarily equipped to do so at the time of the indoctrination. The individual
either gives in to the indoctrination, or, overwhelmed by its apparent
complexity, shrugs the whole discussion off and leaves the debate. Seldom
is the indoctrination immediately refuted by anyone, and this lack of contradiction
has a powerful psychological effect, especially on susceptible
minds. The subject is instructed didactically by an authority figure; no one
asks for substantiation, asks probing questions, or objects to the content.
Those who are concerned about inconsistencies, as I was, assume they are
the only ones who disagree. Instead of concluding that the instructor might
be wrong, the listener begins to doubt him or herself.
Dr. Jiri Vojta
In November of 1993, Dr. Jiri Vojta was invited to the seminary. 1
The seminary printed a long review of the Doctor’s conference regarding
the history of Hungary in the Verbum, its quarterly newsletter. I could not
help but notice, however, that the Verbum failed to mention much of what I
had actually heard during the Vojta discussion of the Jews of Europe, and
of Hungary in particular.
Dr. Vojta “clarified” for us that “Modern Jews” are not the Hebrews of
the Holy Land, but are, instead, the descendants of Asians who converted to
Judaism. Consequently, “Modern Jews” have no relation to Jesus, Abraham,
Isaac, or Jacob. According to Dr. Vojta, Jews living in European cities
were segregated into ghettos because the Jews actually demanded that
the Christians build walls around their quarters and allow them to live there,
apart. After many generations of living in these self-imposed ghettos, the
