stating that the case of Andrew of Rinn was a legend that had “nothing to
do with the Jewish people.” The village was defiant and left the statue

Leon Province Spain: During Easter, cafeterias offer special lemonade in
bottles that ”will be used to kill Jews“ (Gonzales Arpide 1999).

—Ootmarsum, Overijssel province, Holland: On Easter, young men chant
of Jews culpable for Jesus’s death as they walk in a procession through their
village. The OJEC has asked the Archbishop of Utrecht to publicly
denounce the ceremony. Provisional answers from the Board of the Diocese
were inconsistent.
