expand into and dominate the entire Arab and Muslim world. 4
• Convincing the Arab and Muslim world that the Nuremberg racial
laws were between German and Aryan peoples and Jews rather than
Aryans and non-Aryans.
- To convince Arabs that the racial laws were not aimed at the Arabs
but against the Jews. 5
- To increase antisemitism in the Arab and Muslim worlds.
- To emphasize the paranoid and delusional theme that international
Jewish power through the Allies was the controlling factor in the
Allies’ war against the Nazis—paralleling Jewish Allied control to
threaten the entire Middle East. 6
- To claim that Islam was a non-Western ally in Germany’s war
against the Jews—paralleling Jews and Nazi Germany. 7
- To assert that Jews could achieve a Zionist state if there was an
unjustifiable sympathy for their plight in Europe. 8
This was tribalism elevated to paranoia only to be remedied by partisanship,
solidarity, simplicity, and hatred over objectivity, complexity, and factual
reporting. 9 Here is one more example of nightly news:
The Jews aim at monopolizing all the economics of the Arab countries
surrounding them . . . The Jews are the enemy of Islam; if Mohammed
and the Caliphs could not live with the Jews in one country, how can we
do the same today? No, we shall never live in peace with the Jews. They
will never be our masters; they will never be our partners. Either Palestine
will be liberated or all the Arabs will perish to the last man in our
fight for freedom. We shall live an honorable free life or die an honorable
death—for then we can meet our God as martyrs. 10
In advertising, the message is better retained when a spokesperson who
is famous is doing the announcing. Sexy, slim women would be out, but
established leaders who convey power and a link to God could add to the
integrity of the product. For an Arab audience, who better than Grand Mufti
Haj Amin Husseini to convey truth and understanding of the people? So
when the Grand Mufti speaks of God’s ineradicable Muslim-Jewish conflict,
