Over the centuries, <strong>Husqvarna</strong> has<br />
produced a wide range of products<br />
that includes bicycles, rifles and<br />
kitchen equipment.<br />
2006 – Spin off and stock exchange listing<br />
<strong>Husqvarna</strong> is spun off from Electrolux and the shares<br />
are listed on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm.<br />
2007 – Acquisition of Gardena and Zenoah<br />
<strong>Husqvarna</strong> acquires Gardena of Germany, the European<br />
leader in irrigation and garden tools. The <strong>Group</strong><br />
also acquires Zenoah of Japan and Klippo of Sweden.<br />
1959 – Chainsaws<br />
Demand for bicycles, mopeds and motorcycles<br />
declines at the end of the 1950s.<br />
Forestry becomes increasingly more important<br />
in Sweden, and the first <strong>Husqvarna</strong><br />
chainsaw is produced in 1959.<br />
2008 – Expanded presence in China<br />
<strong>Husqvarna</strong> expands production in China through the newly<br />
acquired Jenn Feng operation and the construction of a new<br />
plant for chainsaws and other handheld products.<br />
1995 – Robotic lawn mower<br />
Launch of Automower ® , the worlds<br />
first solar powered robotic lawn<br />
mower.<br />
1978 – Part of Electrolux<br />
Electrolux acquires <strong>Husqvarna</strong>, and<br />
chainsaws become the core of the<br />
Electrolux operation in outdoor products.<br />
The operation expands steadily<br />
through organic growth as well as<br />
acquisitions. The latter include Jonsered<br />
in Sweden in 1979, Poulan/Weed Eater<br />
in USA in 1986, and Roper’s gardening<br />
operation in USA in 1988.<br />

<strong>2009</strong> – 50 years with chainsaws<br />
<strong>Husqvarna</strong> celebrates 50 years of chainsaw production.<br />
A contest is started to find the owner of the<br />
oldest working <strong>Husqvarna</strong> chainsaw. The winner<br />
lives in the Swedish province of Dalecarlia, and<br />
uses a chainsaw that was purchased in 1960.<br />
The <strong>Husqvarna</strong> Automower ® counts 100,000 units<br />
sold in more than 30 countries since 1995.<br />
