4 DAY Session 12:<br />
Presentation of group work and final evaluation<br />
Session Objective : To revise the in<strong>for</strong>mation presented during the training program so<br />
far and evaluate participants ability to recognise symptoms of mental<br />
disorders, respond appropriately, refer people to appropriate services,<br />
and provide support to the family.<br />
Activity 31 : Presentation of group work<br />
Ask each group to identify a member of the group who will introduce the<br />
group and their presentation.<br />
Allow 1 hour <strong>for</strong> the three groups to present the report/presentation/<br />
role play developed during the previous session, including 15 minutes<br />
<strong>for</strong> presentation and 5 minutes <strong>for</strong> each comments and discussion<br />
Activity 32 : Participatory evaluation activity<br />
Time : 1 hour<br />
Purpose : To allow participants time to brainstorm the highs and lows of the training<br />
program and to communicate their ideas to the facilitator.<br />
Materials : Large pieces of paper and marker pens<br />
Directions : Step 1 What have we learnt?<br />
Ask the participants to think of something they have learnt across the<br />
course of the training that they are willing to share with the larger group<br />
i.e. what new knowledge or understanding do they have now that they<br />
did not have at the beginning of the training?<br />
Allow 3 minutes <strong>for</strong> this reflection, and then ask each of them to share<br />
their particular learning with the rest of the group, one by one. Each<br />
person should only speak <strong>for</strong> approximately one minute.<br />
NB: One of the facilitators can lead this session, and the other can make<br />
notes based on the participants’ comments. <strong>The</strong>se notes will create a<br />
record <strong>for</strong> the purpose of course evaluation.<br />
Step 2 - Brainstorming the highs and lows<br />
Divide the participants into three groups and provide each group with<br />
large sheets of paper and pens.<br />
