Under the hoodUnder the hoodDo not work on the car unless you possessthe necessary technical knowledge.If you are unfamiliar with the statutory guidelines,have any work on the vehicle performedonly by a <strong>BMW</strong> center or by a workshop thatwork according to <strong>BMW</strong> repair procedures withcorrespondingly trained personnel. If this workis not carried out properly, there is a danger ofsubsequent damage and related safety hazards.

You can have the oil leveldisplayed while you are driving, or while thevehicle is at a standstill on a level surface andthe engine is running.You can have the oil level reading displayed inthe instrument cluster.3 Jump-starting connection, refer topage 1394 Fluid filler neck for engine oil, refer to Addingengine oil, page 1241. Push button 1 in the turn indicator lever upor down repeatedly until the appropriatesymbol is shown in the display, accompaniedby the word "OIL".2.
