154Aggregate Piers vs. C(I) + C(K) - Group EfficiencyIn general, efficiency of pier with the group of aggregate piers varied between two and threefor short piers and one and two for long piers. On the other hand, the efficiency of cementtype I and K pier within the group was observed no to exceed a value of 1.0. Thus, theperformance of single pier within the group of aggregate piers is much greater than for thepiers composed of cement type I and K.Another major conclusion applicable for both groups of aggregate piers and cementitiouspiers can be made where a reduction in the group efficiency was observed with increasingamount of load imposed or settlement that the group had undergone. Thus, the efficiency of agroup of piers is the least at the point of failure and is much greater at the level of serviceload.
