UNDP Municipal Governance and Sustainable Development Programme First Quarterly Progress Report 2009• On February 20, 2009, Iryna Skaliy, UNDP/MGSDP Project Manager participated in Mid-termreview of MDGs in Ukraine and contributed to discussion on required MDG-related futureactivities in Ukraine.• On February 26, 2009, Iryna Skaliy, UNDP/MGSDP Project Manager presented UNDP/MGSDPat the meeting of Local Governance Team with Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, Director ofDemocratic Governance Group, UNDP Bureau for Development Policy.With other donor agencies• On January 16, 2009, Olena Ursu, UNDP/MGSDP Governance and Sustainable DevelopmentExpert participated in Donor Coordination Meeting organized by Renaissance Foundation andpresented success stories and UNDP/MGSDP experience on creation of community-basedorganizations in partner municipalities.2.2.2 Communication ResultsCommunication about the Programme took place in variousforms and at various levels during the quarter. This sectioncompiles them in form of inventory of communications,publications, interviews etc.A) Media and InformationDuring the quarter, the MGSDP/MSU communication teams were able to collect informationabout 47 media records about the Programme activities, out of which 12 were of national level,and 35 were local. Newspapers remain the most popular information channels for highlightingthe Programme activities (42.5%), mentioning on official web-brought 29.8%, and the rest ofinformation appears on TV of the involved agencies. The Programme was devoted tosocial-mobilization approach, engaging community to decision-making process at the local level.
