<strong>UNDP</strong> Municipal Governance and Susta<strong>in</strong>able Development Programme <strong>First</strong> <strong>Quarterly</strong> <strong>Progress</strong> <strong>Report</strong> <strong>2009</strong>• On February 20, <strong>2009</strong>, Iryna Skaliy, <strong>UNDP</strong>/MGSDP Project Manager participated <strong>in</strong> Mid-termreview of MDGs <strong>in</strong> Ukra<strong>in</strong>e and contributed to discussion on required MDG-related futureactivities <strong>in</strong> Ukra<strong>in</strong>e.• On February 26, <strong>2009</strong>, Iryna Skaliy, <strong>UNDP</strong>/MGSDP Project Manager presented <strong>UNDP</strong>/MGSDPat the meet<strong>in</strong>g of Local Governance Team with Gerald<strong>in</strong>e Fraser-Moleketi, Director ofDemocratic Governance Group, <strong>UNDP</strong> Bureau for Development Policy.With other donor agencies• On January 16, <strong>2009</strong>, Olena Ursu, <strong>UNDP</strong>/MGSDP Governance and Susta<strong>in</strong>able DevelopmentExpert participated <strong>in</strong> Donor Coord<strong>in</strong>ation Meet<strong>in</strong>g organized by Renaissance Foundation andpresented success stories and <strong>UNDP</strong>/MGSDP experience on creation of community-basedorganizations <strong>in</strong> partner municipalities.2.2.2 Communication ResultsCommunication about the Programme took place <strong>in</strong> variousforms and at various levels dur<strong>in</strong>g the quarter. This sectioncompiles them <strong>in</strong> form of <strong>in</strong>ventory of communications,publications, <strong>in</strong>terviews etc.A) Media and InformationDur<strong>in</strong>g the quarter, the MGSDP/MSU communication teams were able to collect <strong>in</strong>formationabout 47 media records about the Programme activities, out of which 12 were of national level,and 35 were local. Newspapers rema<strong>in</strong> the most popular <strong>in</strong>formation channels for highlight<strong>in</strong>gthe Programme activities (42.5%), mention<strong>in</strong>g on official web-brought 29.8%, and the rest of<strong>in</strong>formation appears on TV of the <strong>in</strong>volved agencies. The Programme was devoted tosocial-mobilization approach, engag<strong>in</strong>g community to decision-mak<strong>in</strong>g process at the local level.
