2.8 Fuse ReplacementFuses for the universal and deep enclosure models ofthe 920i are located under a cover plate on the outsideof the enclosure. Remove the cover plate, replace thefuses, and reinstall the cover plate (see Figure 2-14).Removal (Applies to Rev H Board)Place the tip of your finger in the notched area nearthe battery retaining spring and slide the battery out ofposition on the CPU board.lTo protect against the risk of fire, replacefuses only with same type and rating fuse.See Section 10.14 on page 127 forcomplete fuse specifications.Interface board and fuse access coverplates must be in place for use in NEMA4X/IP66 applications.T orque fuse and interface board access covers to8 in-lb (0.90 N-m)Figure 2-15. Interface Board and Fuse Locations,Universal Model2.9 Battery ReplacementThe lithium battery on the CPU board maintains thereal-time clock and protects data stored in the systemRAM when the indicator is not connected to ACpower.Data protected by the CPU board battery includestime and date, truck and tare memory, onboarddatabase information, and setpoint configuration.Use iRev 4 to store a copy of the indicatorconfiguration on a PC before attempting batteryreplacement. If any data is lost, the indicatorconfiguration can be restored from the PC.NOTE: Memory option card data is also protected by alithium battery. All database information stored on a memorycard is lost if the memory card battery fails.Watch for the low battery warning on the LCD displayand periodically check the battery voltage on both theCPU board and on any installed memory option cards.Batteries should be replaced when the indicator lowbattery warning comes on, or when battery voltagefalls to 2.2 VDC. Life expectancy of the battery is tenyears.ReplacementBefore replacing the battery, place the indicator insetup mode, then press SAVE/EXIT to savebattery-backed memory (NVRAM) to flash. Thisoperation saves the latest configuration information,including setpoint values, stored strings and data, andthe onboard database, to flash memory.Return to weigh mode, power off the indicator, andreplace the battery. Use care not to bend the batteryretaining spring.When power is restored, a message is shown statingthat battery-backed memory is corrupt. Press ENTERto restore the values saved in flash memory.See Figure 2-6 on page 12 for CPU board batterylocation and orientation (positive side up).Danger of explosion if battery isincorrectly replaced. Replace only withthe same or equivalent typerecommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of unusedbatteries according to the manufacturer’s instructions.16 920i Installation Manual
