Around2000 students visited and enjoyed the exhibits and the presentations, August2005.• Workshop for Plus Two Physics: organized by the Department of Physics, MadrasChristian College, to acquaint the teachers with the newly introduced syllabus andtextbook, July 2005.• ‘Effervescence’: Annual Chemistry Exhibition and Quiz Competition for schoolstudents, organized by the Department of Chemistry, Madras Christian College,August 2005.• Practical Training to PG teachers of Corporation Schools: Workshop organized bythe Department of Chemistry, Madras Christian College and sponsored byDepartment of Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, November 2005.• Workshop for the Visually Challenged: Conducted periodically by theDepartment of Chemistry, Madras Christian College, to encourage the visuallychallenged students to study Chemistry by carrying out simple experiments,January 2006.• Training Program for Higher Secondary School Teachers of Chennai Corporation:A two-day training programme was organized by the Department of Botany,Madras Christian College, December 2005.• ‘Capparis Festival’: An inter-collegiate competition and ‘K. R. VenkatasubbanInter-collegiate Oratorical Competitions’ were organized by the Department ofBotany, Madras Christian College, February 2006.16
