Details for allprojects be provided in the Final release.)6.1.4.1 Strategic Planning and Architecture (SPA)ORO Business ModelThis project will build on the information previously gathered to complete a BusinessModel for ORO. The Business Model will include a functional model for ORO to be usedto establish ownership <strong>of</strong> information resources (currently the responsibility <strong>of</strong> IRMD andthe CFO), and will provide a basis for building the Information Systems inventory andplan.Technical Architecture SpecificationA Technical Architecture Specification (TAS) for ORO is being developed. The TAS is anorganized collection <strong>of</strong> information technology (IT) guidelines, standards, and preferreddeployment strategies. The purpose <strong>of</strong> the TAS is to provide guidance in support <strong>of</strong> ITresource acquisitions, the design and development <strong>of</strong> information systems, theformulation <strong>of</strong> plans, and the resolution <strong>of</strong> issues involving or affecting ORO'sgeneral­use computing resources. The TAS is basically a technical reference document(or specification) and is structured accordingly. However, it does include summaryinformation about the current business and technical objectives that have influenced itsdesign. This project would complete the work towards publishing the initial version <strong>of</strong> theORO TAS.The TAS will be developed and implemented in conjunction with SC CollaborativeProjects activities, most notably the Information Architecture and Minimum Infrastructuretasks defined in Appendix C.Information ArchitectureWorking with the SC IT Collaboration group, develop a comprehensive informationarchitecture that supports both <strong>DOE</strong>-ORO needs and the needs for <strong>DOE</strong>-ORO t<strong>of</strong>unction effectively as member <strong>of</strong> the broader <strong>DOE</strong> community.<strong>Oak</strong> <strong>Ridge</strong> <strong>Operations</strong>Information Management Plan10/1/99 6-4 Revision 0
