ALSACE
KUHLMANN-PLATZ MUEHLFORST
GEWURZTRAMINER 2005
AC Alsace
“Muehlforst is a lieu-dit [named vineyard] in
Hunawihr, covering over 80 ha next to Ribeauvillé.
The vineyards face south-east, and the terroir is
dominated by marl, rich in lime. Muehlforst is one
of the most reliable lieux-dits in Alsace, playing in
the same league as Bildstoecklé, Bihl, Bollenberg,
Rotenberg and Herrenweg.” (www.alsace-wine.net)
The Gewurztraminer from this fine producer
contains classic lychee, grapefruit and spicy
aromas and flavours. Intense but still quite dry,
this flavourful wine needs intensely flavoured, but
not necessarily spicy, Asian cuisine.
